P2R vs. Outlaw Engineering TB spacer/IM gasket

P2R vs. Outlaw Engineering TB spacer/IM gasket
I'm not looking to do the UCM so I've been considering a TB spacer/gasket and intake manifold gasket. What's the better product...P2R or Outlaw Engineering? They look to be very similar but the P2R spacer is 3/4" whereas the Outlaw Engineering is 1/4". I've searched but haven't found much in terms of comparisons between these units. Facts and opinions are welcome

I understand that the ucm effectively addresses the under hood temps that translate into cooler intake temps etc. I guess what I am looking for is more on the 1/2" differentiator with these 2 products. My assumption is that the outlaw product is just a "cooling" mod while the p2r does the same but adds relative plenum volume. With the exception of forced induction, we are all generally chasing low percentage gains and while the ucm works well and is free, it's not a mod I can live with asthetically.

I contacted XLR8 about this after finding some other threads with this issue. They hadn't seen thus issue and stated that they were good up to 450 degrees. I also emailed P2R and have yet to hear a response. Unfortunately I have already installed the part. Inaccurate, how did you know when the melting started? Did you have any symptoms?

I bought the p2r IM spacer a while ago and never installed. After seeing the posts from thisaznboi88 last month I decided to do a test. I put it into my toaster oven at 250 degrees to see what would happen. It already started to deform. Of course this is different from a real install, but I threw it away and bought the outlaw spacer.
BTW, the outlaw spacer is thicker than the p2r. I think the p2r is closer to 1/8" as I recall.

I noticed it was melting because my Idle was messed up and there was a vacuum leak that I couldn't never really locate. Took off the IM and it was like melted. totally shocked so I just took out the p2r and left my outlaw back in.
FYI I stacked the spacer, but the outlaw was never damaged and I had that for over 3 years now. The p2r melted within 1 month more or less.
@ way-acura good test. The engine surrounding gets way hotter then 250 especially since there is no direct air flow to outside of the runners and there is a coolant pipe right under where the the runners where the p2r gasket sit.

I have the P2r gasket installed aswell, its been there for some time now. Seeing the pictures makes me worried a little and im wondering if it is in good condition or not... Obviously its impossible to see without taking the manifold off but my idle is funny, especially with the ac on. It dips to low at times where it shakes the whole car really. From what i feel on the manifold it doesnt seem to help at all as the cover is cooking. Looking at the Outlaw engineering kit, it is actually a spacer with a gasket. Im wondering how much of a difference it would make....

My outlaw spacers are still working well after 5 years. If you let the car idle like crazy and stop and go for a long time the manifold will heatsoak, but under normal conditions it keeps it noticeably cooler than stock.

Thread revival! Does anyone know if the spacer melting will cause a weird whining noise or whistling noise really high pitch.
If so, then mine is melted also cause I only had it on for 1 month.
