I have been crazy.

Got 05 TL 3 weeks ago and now I went over 2000 by this morning.

Well, MID says Oil life is 80% but from what I know you have to change your engine oil every 3000.

Is what MID tells me reliable????

 

You might want to do an oil change a little earlier to get all the metal shavings from the factory/break-in out of circulation. I'm picking up an Anthracite '05 w/ A-Spec tomorrow and will be doing an oil change at 6,600 kms ~ approx. 3k miles, proly earlier depending how much fun I'm having. When I broke in my R6 motorcycle I did an oil change at 100 km's and was amazed at the amount of metal that was present in the oil. I installed an oil filter with a magnet at that point and changed out the oil again at 300 km's and still had plenty of metal shavings on the magnet. Continued to change at 600 kms, 1k kms, 1.5k kms then at 2k kms - at 3k kms was when the metals were almost gone. Some might say it's overkill but I'm anal like that.

 

Had my first oil change @ 4700 miles.... Just go by the MID, its pretty accurate...
