OBX Exhaust Installed (w/video)

Alright ladies and gents,

Its been a long while since i have been on here, formally known as AcuraJ32A but that ship has sailed since my old email got hacked so cant recover that account. Anyway im back and now i went from 2nd Gen ('00) to a 3rd Gen ('06). Got the bug after i Installed the Inspire Fog Light mod and CAI. Now ive moved to exhaust.

I believe there have been questions about this on so i decided to pull the trigger on this one HERE.

Below is the Bone stock i took about a year ago with a Motorola Moto X 1st Gen.

Next below is the new exhaust as listed in the ad/link above. Footage taken witha GoPro Hero 4 Silver

Any question's comments or concerns please let me know. It is great to be back among people who appreciate and love these cars, Honda and Acura

I've been on the fence about this exhaust, I think you just sold me! How is it driving? Any problems to speak of yet?

Im glad its making waves here hahaha. I did a photo shoot out at local state park here with the recent snow fall and should have them up today. along with GoPro footage with 0-60+ pulls from exhaust view to really give a better sense of what it sounds like. As far as interior drone goes, not nearly as bad as one would think. That being said, once I have new rubber on I'll be able to give y'all footage from inside. Thanks again for all the input so far gents, its good to be back on here. Check back tonight or very soon for more details

Hey there Takara,

I'm interested in the OBX exhaust, but I cant seem to find a lot of in cabin videos. Would it be too much trouble for you to film some in cabin video while you're driving around?

I found one of an Accord which sounded pretty good, but there isn't a lot of other than that one.

Unfortunately ATLP doesn't make their base exhaust anymore and I really like the oval shaped exhaust tips. The OBX pipe is the only one that offers a tip similar to the stock OEM tips other than the ATLP one.

Just installed mine today, it's really nice. It's a good rumble below 3000 rpm's but after that it actually gets more quite. I'm a father of 3 so I didn't want an obnoxious sound, couldn't be happier for the price it's a score.

I glad you posted this. I was so close to buying the tsudo setup but for the price I'll go with the obx... I have one question, are you still running the stock j pipe?

I am running the stock j-pipe, replacing that will be next. I did this by myself on jack stands and hand tools. fyi im 5' 7" and 135lbs. Not saying it was easy but if I can do it I think its easy enough if you have a friend help. I did have to go to the local muffler shop and have the guy break loose the nuts from the cat converter due to lots of rust

Would someone with a base model TL take a picture of their exhaust straight on? I love how well the stock exhaust tips fit in the bumper cutouts and that's one of the reasons I really liked the ATLP base exhaust. However since they no longer produce it, the OBX looks like it would work well with it's ovaled tips.

I'm on the fence about it and would really appreciate it if someone could take a picture showing how well it fits in with the bumper. The videos and pictures provided are usually at an upward angle or the quad exhaust.

Anyone know if the quad-tip version fits the 04-06 A-spec rear bumper?

1st pic is what you desire....I think

@94eg!
yes the quad tip does fit A-Spec rear bumper. Cutting is necessary for quad tip on base bumper.

Bummer on the quad-tips. That weird oval tip is no-bueno. I guess you could replace them with something single & round for pretty cheap.

So what's the deal with this exhaust. I noticed the quad version on ebay is over $900 now......yet the dual-oval version is still in the $350's. Looks like the quad version has bolt-together flanges while the dual-oval uses slip-fit connections.

Honestly I don't mind the oval but the little thing that does bug me is how I can see so much of the tip from the side. I'll go with a different tip in the future but I have other needs. Flange was at the front and the rest was slip on with some bolted down connectors. Been driving with it close to 2 months, and I do like it a lot for the budget....

Wait......I just re-read this comment. Are you saying the quads WILL fit the 04-06 A-spec bumper without cutting?

This is the rear I have:

Yes it is!

The right tip looks a little angled in the bumper cutout. :-/ I guess that could be corrected with the hangers and whatnot. But yeah, at some angles it does look like it sticks out a bit further than I'd like. Does it look like that can be adjusted/fixed?

Thanks!

I muffler shop can fix all that with a simple cut & re-weld. Probably won't cost much at all.

Definitely will consider. I was just trying to think without having to go. But...I am almost 90% sure that I'll be getting the base exhaust in the near future.

Thanks!

I'm more than thrilled with the overall purchase. I'm going to take off the clamps soon and see if I cant get the parts that slide over each other to go down a little further. Just some tapping with a rubber mallet should do the trick I think.

Sorry gents i haven't checked on this thread in a while. All that being said i will post video's from in cabin very soon. I just had a wheel bearing fixed that mistaken for bad tire noise and spent good money on some Continetal DWS's(absolutely fantastic tire btw). Thankfully it was under warranty so I didnt have to mess with much. Today was the first time i have really heard it myself and let me tell you it is F'n beautiful!!! Look for them to be up this Friday after I charge up both GoPro's and set them up inside the cabin and out. I will Also Share multiple shots from the exterior and underneath.

Thanks for the pictures!

It looks awesome. I think the only thing I would probably try to remedy (if possible) is to have the tips not stick out so far. But it looks great!

Just got this exhaust a week ago and I am really enjoying it, but I might want to go a little louder? Anyone know anything that would help? I also have the resonators on still, should I replace that with a straight pipe? I have the catback system installed and everything else is stock.
