mine are in the mail! I'll be doing the trifecta: pre-cats, j-pipe, test pipe at once with possibly straight pipe replacement of 3rd muffler. Also installing crank pulley and Koni yellows and I hope I don't get a ticket the first day out of the bay!

I can honestly say it made a huge difference in the "pull". As far as this over the precat deletes i cant say. I would think the Deletes would flow somewhat better because of their design...eg not the big oval i have. but wat can i say 80000 miles and she is runnin mighty mean .

They're usually ceramic with platinum coating.

but yes, the precat deletes are the way to go. the stock cats have a really bad transition coming right out of the casted manifold
Pretty much what I was going to say although I've heard they can take your car for not having a cat. Even on the Buick with a million things under the hood that don't look legal I went to the trouble to have a "fake" cat in place.

You just ruined $1000 in parts. Precats = $700. 3rd cat = $300. RV6 cat deletes come to $315.

Why does it matter how much it costs? If he wants them gone, he wants them gone. Maybe he doesn't plan on putting it back to stock, in that case, the cats could be 5000 dollars, it doesn't matter. Just because you're forced to pay more for the car new because of them, doesn't mean you shouldn't take them off if you really want to, just because it drove up the cost of your car.

I just took my cat off, put a test pipe in, and I'm selling my cat. Why? Because I don't want it, I'm not going to put it back on, and my car performs better without it. Give the guy a break. :gheyfight

To sell the car (or trade it) later, legally, won't you have to replace it or disclose it? Don't you think you might have some difficulty selling/trading it without cats?

An RSB or even Springs/Shocks, I could see dumping the old part - you can work around that and replacement parts are not outrageously expensive - but catalytic converters? Not so much.

(BTW - I don't care that he removes them; I don't care that he guts them. I'm just saying it doesn't seem that it was thought through very well, i.e. better alteratives with less potential hassle and possible lower costs in the future.)

It's all about the situation at hand, though. Maybe he can't spend the money on precats like others can, or maybe there's another reason.

I have no plans on selling my car, or trading it in for a long time to come, but when that happens, I don't think the person buying it would care, and if so, it may make it a bit difficult to sell. By the time I do sell it, however, it should have a lowered sport suspension, and some new rims/tires, so the person that see's the pictures of the car like that, won't give a rip-snort about a cat.

That's the way I see it anyway.

P.S. Anybody want to buy a stock cat???

To tell you the truth this is funny. Thanks devil for bein like the only person on my side i guess you could say. I did it cause well first off the car is mine and i can do wat i want with it.

There are no emission tests in arkansas or inspection so i can do what i have done.... end of story on that part. But honestly u wouldve think i killed some body with the way most r actin. Hell some of the mods u guys have done arent for me but i am not gonna b cynical towards ur mod.

Its ur car do wat u will. I wanted more power and i got it, i have no plans to sell my car, gonna drive it till the wheels fall. All i can say is good luck with ur mods and hope they make "YOU" HAPPY cause mine makes "ME" happy....... happy motorin to ya!

Everyone has their own opinions about how to mod cars and stuff, but just do what you want to it. As long as it makes you happy, thats all that matters!

I have no problem with it. My other car runs on leaded gas, no convertors, and no EGR and I don't feel the least bit guilty.

The thing that would bother me is if you sold it and didn't tell the new owner. Otherwise it's yours to do what you want with. I'm sure the percent of catless TLs makes up less than .0001% of the TLs out there, the environmental argument is not a good one.

I don't have a problem with him running catless at all. I could care less. I will be catless in a week.

Its just idk why OP wouldnt just buy the deletes and save the way over priced OEM parts.

But its not my car

With what Actrite has said... not sure why you would want to "save" garbage, just because it's expensive if you were to buy it by itself, which I don't think very many people would ever do.

I always take my "garbage" out to the dumpster.

I will say i do agree with u all on selling the car without disclosing the cats bein gone. That would be a really shady thing to do.

If i ever decide to sell i will just get the magnaflow cats put on . But i plan on keepin "THE PRECIOUS"........LOL
