New Rotors from Marcus at Heeltoe...

Spoke to Marcus yesterday regarding new Rotors and pads for my TL-S and he told me he is working with RacingBrake to develop a one piece rotor specifically for our cars with Brembos... Seemed very excited about the project and said they will be comparable in price to the one piece non-Brembo that Racingbrake offers.... Still for the best of the best the two piece Racingbrake rotor in his opinion is the way to go..... Good luck Marcus and let us know when they will be rolled out...

this will be a great option for the brembo owners....the price jump from one to two-piece is huge!!!!

It will be....think i'm still leaning toward the two piece and the ET300 pad based on how well and quickly they shed heat....

If you have a 6 speed, yes. The noise is awful.

I can never make up my mind with the 1pc vs 2pc rotors. Higher initial cost, less replacement cost with the 2pc.

2pc transfer less heat into the hub and bearing area. However, the hub and rim acts as a heatsink and should run slighly cooler with the 1pc.

The real claim to fame with the 2 pc rotors is the lack of distortion at high temperatures. Since the friction area is not rigidly connected to the hub area, there is little distortion under high heat conditions. It's said 1pc rotors try and distort into a cone shape.

I went with the 1pc since I have never run into any issues with this and I've turned the rotors blue and faded the brakes completely. My pads have always worn evenly and the car has been tracked on sticky tires so I can't see ever needing more than 1pc. The exception would be much higher hp levels and running slicks.

The RB 2-piece w/ ET300 pads is exactly the setup I was planning to run....Thanks for input...made my decision easy. Princelybug, do you also run ET300's on the rears?

I have the RB 2pc w/ ET500, 6MT

Generally no noise, very quite braking. Now, if I do a heavy brake from 40-50mph+ to 0mph I will hear a slight noise, but nothing of any concern what so ever. I have to turn the radio off as well since it is not loud, it's no where near an "awful" sound. Just sounds like the brakes doing what they're suppose to do, again only on a heavy high speed brake to 0mph. For all I know, my OEM's might have been making the same noise, but I don't remember. I'm completely satisfied with my RB stuff from Heal Toe.

Any brake dust with your set up? Besides the noise, that's my other concern.

Loud. Embarrassing. I'd rather be driving a 4G than be in the TL when they squeal.

It is definitely embarrassing to have squeaky brakes, so I feel for ya.

Brake dust is minimal, nothing like OEM. I would say about 70%+ less dust compared to OEM. You can also wax the wheels really good to help minimize.

My set-up does not squeal at all. Any squealing should be fix-able. I had infrequent squeals at first, but I was able to eliminate with re-lubing the caliper better, also with a different synth. brake lube. It was Versa Chem lubricant I think.

from my conversation with marcus about a week ago, he said they were in development with Racing Brake. I would expect a mid summer release....I'll shoot him a note today and see what he thinks...

FYI
From RacingBrake......
Yes, it's being tooled up and we expect to have them ready for shipment in 12-14 weeks. We are also developing a matching big brake kit for the rear for a better balanced brake for stock (282x12mm) upgrade.

Hello, I understand from Marcus at HeelToe that you are working on a 1 piece rotor for TL's with Brembo front calipers....can you tell me when you think they may be available? thanks

Interesting indeed.... this seems like its right up my alley.

However I have always wondered why no one has come out with a kit to increase the size of the rotors with our stock calipers. I mean why not come out with a 13.5-14" rotor that simply uses a bracket to space the caliper? The Brembo calipers on our cars are beefy enough that I simply cannot fathom spending the money for a BBK from another manufacturer just for an extra inch or two of rotor....

Exactly. The stock Brembo calipers are more than enough for anything you can throw at it. A BBK for the 6mt could be just rotors and an adaptor bracket, cutting cost in half or more.

I've only had my two piece with the ET500 pads for just over a week now and no noise so far. I have a 6MT with the Brembos.

Did you fade the brakes with the RB 1 piece? What pads were you using? What about the fluid? I'm assuming this was on the track...hope there was some good run off!

Nah, that was the stock 5at brakes that faded. I have the Rotora 13" 1pc and have abused them and they keep coming back for more.

I was just saying that I think the main advantage of the 2pc is not so much performance but durability through extreme heat cycles. I didn't have a problem with distortion on with my stock brakes so hopefully I won't with the 1pc larger brakes. The larger diamter may make them more prone to distortion but so far so good.
