The AEM intake will not void your warranty. I had the dealer where I bought my car install mine. As long as you or your girl don't plan on driving the car through deep puddles that would submurge the air filter, you don't need the bypass valve. Enjoy the intake and the nice change in the sound of the engine. Don't expect a big increase in HP. The car will sound a whole lot better though. Hope this helps.

Just don't drive in deep puddles where you might submerge the filter. I've had an AEM in for 3 years. I live in Miami and drive in very heavy rains all the time. Never had any problems and I don't have a bypass valve or cover for the filter. Enjoy your CAI. You should think about doing some mods to the exhaust if you haven't. Now that you're letting some more air IN it's time to let some of that OUT..

just another word of advice for safety... if you ever hit any puddles (large or small), make sure you don't gun it - pedal to the metal = more air being sucked into the engine

You could delete the key hole on driver's side for $15, just buy a cover for the rear drivers passenger door, and Remove and replace, then you have no keyhole. Debadge the rear of the car for free!! Have the mid-muffler cut out($40-70).And, if you want a little bang for your buck, grab the progress rear swaybar, you will never think about the $140 you spent going through the turns!
