New Irotor brakes

Hey guys, just installed the new Irotor rotors and pads, crossed drilled and slotted. Hopefully they will not warp like the stock ones I just took off. Great price and fast shipping. I will post more after I have put more miles on them. Also for our info, I called Irotors about breaking them in, they said to drive them like it was a new car and be light on them so you don't ruin them. Approx. 1000-1500 miles. I painted the calipers also, tell me what you guys think.

Late

They look good, don't forget the retaining screws.. without them, the rotors will hit against the lugs each time you brake and with time you can guess what might happen.

I have to disagree. I left the screws off over 65,000 miles ago on my ebc rotors (front and rear, slotted/dimpled) and I have had no problems.

No reviews yet on the braking, I still am taking it easy for the first 1000 miles. I thought the retaining screws were only needed for when the car was on the assembly line to keep the rotors on till the wheels were installed. Also I had to drill two of them out.

They ran me $239 delivered to my house off ebay, front and rear with pads. Thought that was a pretty good deal.

Correct. Once the wheels are on the hubs, the retaining screws are useless!

That has never happened and will never happen unless you install something wrong. Sounds like your lugs were loose. The caliper centers the rotor so it should not be "hitting" anything. The set screws are only in there to support the rotor during its pass through the assembly of the car. I never put those back when I use them unless a customer really wants them back...FOr the most part I dont even bother since it is not needed.

To the op it looks good. How much did those run you and do they have slotted only? I need a set for my rears.

Nail05 $239 to my house in Oregon, pads and rotors x4 . I didn't see just slotted, maybe they have them. I checked there site and were $280 then went to ebay which they were selling on there for a cheaper price and picked them up there. I was a little worried about the cross drilling cracking, but I don't drive the car that hard, I don't think I would put cross drilled on my F350 cause I tow quite a bit. The weight of the rotors felt a little heavier 1lb or so than my stock which made me feel better about the quality of metal. We will see though.

Just an update, the brakes seem to work really well, not very much at all brake dust. Have been taking it easy for the first 1000 miles. I do have one complaint, hear a slight squeal until I anchor the brakes then that goes away for a while. Any ideas? Overall very happy for the price.

that light squeal ur talking about, when lightly braking, is most likely from the pads not being seateng yet...in fact they have to be burnt-in.... what i mean by that...you will have to do some heavy braking to a complete stop, so the pads heat up and release the gases and seat onto the rotor surface....now, many may not agree with this since there's fear of warping the rotors and whatnot...but if they're good rotors, they shouldn't warp just because you did some heavy complete stop braking from 60-70 mph repeatedly for about 3-4 times.....

another reason may be the match of the rotor with the pads...i dont know and never heard of those rotors, and i dont know what kinda pads you're using either...sometimes depending on the material matching, squealing can take a while to go away...unless there's something wrong then they will squeal forever
