Don't get dissapointed just yet ,yes it can and will work on a 2g r&d might be even quicker Anne simpler than the 3G ,but right now we are focused on getting the 3G up and running as a lot of people are waiting on this ,but after we get done if we get a group together I'll go ahead and get it running on the 2 g also ..

Check out the gains with the Megasquirt 2 on this e30 BMW. Keep in mind this BMW makes less than half the whp of a fully bolted TL!

Here's an update from Rodney:
This is an update from jandrnextlevelperformance with our new programmable ecu ,we have been testing and driving the car with the ecu to test function, form and most importantly drivability, in the process we did run into a few glitches which we have successfully overcome ..
Now we have the ecu controlling our test car everything is up and running with full control and adjustability ,fuel ,timing ,etc fan control ,iat ,rpm ect ..
All luxury function is still maintained and working in the Tl as if it were still oem ..
The factory ecu is still maintained ,which is controlling the drive-by wire system along with idle functions ,this can also be eliminated ,and use the jandr ecu with a throttle cable system if desired ,especially for swap car without the drive-by wire system ,which will be demonstrated with jandr newly Integra with j32a3 swap ...
We did perform a few runs yesterday just to keep everyone informed as to where we've gotten with the new ecu ,
There will be two videos ,first consist of the stock ecu with our current test car : 2007 Acura Tl TypeS 6speed
Equipped with
Atlp jpipe
Aem v2 3" catbac exhaust
Third cat delete
Stock primary cats still retained ..
All ecu will be delivered with a startup base map for plug and play install ,tuning can be done at any local certified tuner dyno location ..
For the past few weeks we've been focusing on drivability and function which we are comfortable with at this point ,which is important ,we will be on the dyno this weekend extracting any power we can with a performance tune and a egr delete ..
We will be ready for shipping soon as we are waiting on our optional knock control unit and boost controller as the ecu will be controlling these functions ,which knock control is a feature we are all waiting to see ..
Here is a video of the dyne run with the bolt on's listed above. More to come.

Thanks kn having a little Internet connection issue here so as I tried to post and send out updates nothing went thru but kn was nice enough to help out once again .
We had a few alterations and adjusents that had to be done over the last week which we could done and up and running and testing I have two graphs from 2 different dyno with stock ecu and the new jandr ecu which I will get up asap ,as far as tuning for performance we were more bound to get driveability and function as this a must ,now we are confident and happy with results ,so this weekend we will try to extract a few more hp with a full tune ,we are waiting on arrival of our knock control unit that I'm sure a lot of us can't wait to see ..
Thanks for checking in I'll keep update coming and more videos and graphs coming...

Some additional updates:
2007 Type-S (Xiamaro's Ride)
OEM clutch w/J&R 6 puck disc
J-Pipe installed (not sure which one)
3rd Cat Delete
3" Full Catback
AEM V2 CAI
Videos of the runs:
I was also told that they are waiting for a knock box to arrive which is a $100-120 option. At that point, the ECU should be released.
Rodney is predicting being able to surpass 300whp with the precat deletes on a bolt-on Type-S. He's going to be out of town next week to do another install in NY so the tests may not happen until he returns.
Also on the horizon (totally off topic) are gearsets developed by the same people who developed the twin disc clutch.

20-25whp/tq throughout the band is great! And that's with the factory precats! Awesome development J&R! Can;t wait to see what the ECU can do with the PCDs!

I'm seriously considering this so I can pull back some timing in the summer and get rid of this surging once and for all.

[quote=I hate cars;12785605]Was that on a stock TL or was that optimizing the mods with the new ecu?

Everything but pre-cat deletes.
It should be impressive with the pre-cat deletes. FTW!!

Redlinerav 2007 typeS will be getting some testing as we replace his clutch when I get back from doing (kikazz) car ,redlinerav made 297 whp & 238-258 lb tq with all mods except catback exhaust on our dyno before so we will use his car as a good test car equipped with mostly every mods common to us :
Precat delete
Jpipe
Jandr ported runners
P2r throttle body spacer and thermal gasket
P2r Thermal intake gasket
Third cat delete ...with these mods car laid down 297 whp and 258lb tq
Let's see what we will get with the new Ecu installed after the clutch gets replaced ..

I read that knock windowing would be added to the megasquirt system at some point...allowing different timing retard on individual cylinders (like the J&S Safeguard).
Is this feature operational or being planned?

Now we are talking!!!
Rodney and JnR staff thanks for all the R&D and giving reason to keep our TL's
I want/need this ecu
also Rodney i will be driving down to florida and spend a week down south during first week of April
If you need a guniea pig for a TypeS Automatic, let me know I would be more then willing to swing by and have some trial runs and see what the ecu can bring out of the automatic TypeS with some bolt-ons(too bad RV6 exhaust not ready yet) lol
keep up the great work!!!

I didn't see anything definite, just message board posts from a year ago. I guess the knock control functionality hasn't been added according to the megasquirt site...maybe in the future...
#105
As I said, J&R are doing something in this area right now. We just need Rodney to get back to Fla to get the details.
#108
The brand of dyno isn't as much a concern as just having before and after runs on the same unit - which Rodney does. That means more than anything else.

Details would be helpful too, as in what was adjusted, what wasn't etc. Also more details on the base maps, which will be beneficial to guys like me, who don't have any local sources for a proper tune and want to finish up a few other mods anyway before doing a full dyno tune.

Is that the end all, no exceptions price? If so, damn. I do understand it's a full standalone unit and that it does basically everything. I also understand that the FlashPro for Civics does what this does for the TL for 1/2 the price. But, I do know the TL is a totally different car, and much harder to crack/work with. Not to mention many more options.
I just wanted to voice my opinion on the matter. Whether taken with a grain of salt or not, if it were a little cheaper I think it'd go a long way. I'm not downplaying the amount of work you guys had to go through to pull this off, so please don't misinterpret what I'm saying. I'm trying to convey that to spend $1400 on the ECU, then another $4-500 on a dyno is a LOT of money.
However, I'm sure my attempt will get knocked aside because most of the catbacks for the TL are pushing $800-1100 alone. Then add PCD and Jpipe and you're looking at almost $2k on just the exhaust.

MAybe we can have a group buy to lower cost a little im sure we can rally up a decent amount of people on AZINE.

It's the price you pay to play on a platform that isn't in very teeny-boppers front yard. Volume makes things cheaper and you won't see that with our rides right now if ever.
He's a small shop compared to companies like AEM but has done more for this platform in the last year than anyone here could or any other company like Hondata was willing to do. Like it was said, a catback is selling for +1K and people are buying it. This is in a more useful category.

Believe me when I tell you. Rodney is not in this game to make money off these products. Hes lucky if he can make a few bucks for R&D. He simply loves these cars and is willing to help everyone out.
With that said, I can guarantee the amount of money he is making off each ecu made is minuscule
my car is 7 years old with 128,000 miles. I plan to go for another 100,000

I had the turbo installed with 119000 miles. Car ran excellent before the turbo and excellent after the turbo. 9k trouble free miles.
I lost compression on cylinder 6 a few months ago and Im in the process of a rebuild with lower compression pistons and beefy pauter rods. general consensus seems to be a cracked ringland on the cylinder 6 piston. Wont know for sure until the motor is apart.
I cant blame this failure on the turbo kit. Ill blame it on myself. I started to increase the boost and adjust the fuel. I was pushing close to 500 crank hp. Not recommended by anyone with the stock internals. I guarantee if I stayed around 350ish whp, I would still be fine. But whats the fun in that when you could be pushing 500whp lol
