The TRD Tundra is not fast either. That 504hp in a 5,000lb truck is the same as a 304hp 3,500lb car. It can barely break the 13s. Not fast.

Depends on what you're comparing it to. Of course, it's not fast like your GN is fast, but a pickup that can keep up with a TL? Pretty damn fast

TL's are quick 500+ HP muscle cars are fast
big difference between those words in the first place
either way that Tundra is quicker than a TL for it's size and weight
Idk what you're comparing it to

I screwed up and had fast cars/bikes at an early age. Now, when I get a car that friends say is "fast", I feel like it's slow as balls

I'm pretty conservative with my car, so I'm sticking with the mid-muffler delete. IMO, the exhaust tone heard in the video is just too out of character for the car it's coming from. To each their own. Good luck, OP!

You need at least a resonator piped it somewhere.
Then a new vid.
nothing bad to say.

I understand but I'm in no way comparing the TRD to my GN. 500hp is a lot of hp but you have to figure it weighs over 5,000lbs. It will have straight line performance similar to a 300hp car. IMO it's average when comparing semi-sporty cars. The TL is a nice car for what it is and it's one of my favorite cars. I don't even hate the sound of yours. Like I said, I spent a fair amount of my early years from 17-22 with open exhaust until I could afford an exhaust that would not cost any hp over open exhaust. If you notice, some of the turbo TLs are pretty loud but no one says anything about it because they can back up the sound with performance. In the end it's your car so it doesn't matter what we say.

Out of all due respect. I'm sure this car would've measured up to what you expect it to be... if I was also over 30 years old, and had it for a long time with a decent cash flow of my own. Again out of all due respect I'm saying this. It's 1 thing to give suggestion, and then there's a cruel way to just talk crap. Suppose to be the elders with more experience right.. Then please send some suggestions this way instead of bashing. Or don't even comment at all.

i think hes getting his feelings hurt...lol... but what the hell do you expect when you have a 3G TL that sounds like a funny car at the drag track
mid~muffler delete is all the TL needs (Stage 1 For Life!!!!!!!)

TL is not even a decent car in the first place to spend thousands in performance modifications just to haul ass with

Step 1: Remove exhaust on car
Step 2: Get defensive and start attacking other people's cars

Agreed. But then again, I've actually got a proper exhaust to make me want mine & closer to "straight-piped" than this.

woah woah woah.. I got this 2007 TL with about 31,000 miles on it for $18,500 with an extended 50,000 mile warranty.... No accidents nothing car was fully clear. My parents didn't force me this I wanted it because it was a steal at this price, and I kinda didn't want to wait another month to get the Camaro. TL's a semi luxury sports sedan. Luxury would be my Fathers 750li. sports car would be our familys M6.

no offense taken

Perhaps the phrase "patience is virtue" applies here. The exhaust tone would be more at home with this American muscle. I think the discussion here may have gone another direction if it was the Camaro instead of the TL featured in your video.

suggestion: Stage 1, 2, and 3 > your straight piping... they all cost the same... find the stock exhaust and pick a stage... your car will sound better and be just as fast or even faster than its current state.

and before you ask, use the search button for the thread on all the stages. (saving you more flaming)

p.s. for the record, your TL is not a 2007. its an 04-06 model. mileage is good but not sure how good of a deal you think you got man.

You know what I noticed after watching the videos all over again, as bad as the TL sounds I think it sounds better than the Tundra which likely has the same "mods".

I like it, sounds a little like my hks. But did you feel a loss in low end torque removing the rear mufflers? With a resonator i'm sure it'll sound waay smoother.

Low end torque acceleration you could literally feel the car just blowing air, and barely picking up. But after 40-50 it would pull hard.
