sorry to be bringing back a long lost thread, but i had a few questions..How long does the sanding process take and how long does the polishing process take if doing it straight through..may be a dumb question but is it okay to drive with the covers off or is that a definite NO? lol and finally, is there anything that needs to be done when taking them off? or just unscrew and good to go? nothing needs to be drained or anything? thank you

Royce did one for me... almost 40 hours of polishing, $30-$40 worth of polishing supplies, and you gotta know what you're doing. This is not a DIY mod in my opinion. I'd never attempt it anyway... Too much work.
I do have a deal for you though.
I bought a polished manifold from Royce a while back, planned to install it with my supercharger. Been sittin in the garage since. Royce and I have been corresponding, and we're cooking up a slightly different plan. I was planning to sell this fully polished manifold. You'd just have to remove your manifold, remove some of the manifold parts and farm them over to the new manifold, then bolt on the polished one.
When you reinstall, you need to torque it to proper specifications per the service manual to ensure a solid seal... and a new gasket is a good idea.
$350 shipped, what i paid for it if you want it.

Royce, the manifold is holding up really well. No oxidation effects of any sort from what i can tell.
Everyone that sees the manifold loves it when i pop the hood. Massive engine bay BLING!

is the 3.2L and 3.5L manifold the same??

3.5 manifold is uglier... as it is COMPLETELY covered by the plastic housing. The 3.2 manifold has a little bling to it, as the top cover is visible with the plastic cover installed.

it probably looks just like the 3.5 plane ass fuck with some ugly aluminum color... I may have mine powdercoated black if I get the time... (reffering to just the cover not the entire intake manifold)

im bringing sexy back...
resurrecting this thread, because i want to start polishing my IM .... anybody besides Royce and ACCURATEin have this? Kennedy did you keep yours or sell it?
I would rather buy a new or used one, polish it off the car, so my down time is minimal.. but damn.. the IM is like $400++
Royce, can we get some details on what polishing materials / brands you used? yours looks perfect
any update on oxidation from anybody?

Kept it (sort of... i sold the one I bought from Royce and bought a "better" one)... I also had Royce polish the SuperCharger manifolds to match. Hotness.
It's a mess in this pic, but C-Dat stopped by and helped me clean it up a bit.
My engine bay is bling blaugh now...
1) Don't even think about doing this yourself. It's a messy, shitty job, and you need the right materials/tools/buff wheels etc... Hit Royce up, he said he was working on a few for ebay.
2) Can you roll back to the 04-06 manifold? Not sure you can polish those grid lines and castings off the 3.5L manifold... I though the manifold throttle body was larger on the 3.5 though?
Not sure this is gonna work out for you S guys.
