thinking about removing mid muffler and replacing with straight pipe. now what is the difference between stainless steel and aluminized steel...called most shops and they offer aluminized steel?

pros/cons will be great

did search and did not want to read that 2o something page on this thread

It's ok but it will eventually corrode. If you want a little extra protection after it's installed give it a spray with some high temp paint, VHT, Duplicolor are a few brands. Then let your car idle for 10 min, turn off for 20, then idle again for 20, turn off again for 30 to cure the paint.

aluminized steel will rust immediately and corrode within 5-7 years eventually. It is okay to use it as it is similar to the oem catback piping. The pros are that the exhaut is gonna sound more throaty, similar to a g35 exaust note. There are no cons except the piping.

heat/weathering is ur worst nightmare (and you cant avoid either). Make sure u get a good stainless or aluminized. regular piping would rust at a normal rate like within a week, it wouldnt fall off but you dont wanna see it when the car is up....its like wtf is this rusting for?

Mid Miuffler removal alone is kind of pointless... the sound barely changes.

Delete the stock resonator while you're under there. Then you will hear a difference.
