If I'm not mistaken, Dynomax is aluminized metal where the Magnaflow comes in either aluminized metal or stainless.
When I had my Magnaflow stainless recently done, the mechanic doing the job said "good choice" when I told him I went with SS over aluminized. Durability and less corrosion maybe...dunno.
After doing alot of research on here, the Dynomax is clearly louder but a little more raspier too.

The Dynomax is aluminized? Wow didn't know that haha And yes, SS should last more than your stock pipes according to the mechanic I went to.
That doesnt make sense though, If you swapped the resonator with pipes, it should have made it alot louder. If anything, the "resonator" you're referring to is probably the midmuffler. The midmuffler barely makes any sound, from what I know.
Best Setup unless you want to get mufflers:
Midmuffler replaced with pipes, Resonator replaced with dynomax resonator. I have that now and I LOVE it. Switching soon to TopSpeed Pro1's Oh, and I have no rasp either, other people might have a leak or something

Or if you go to another board, they will tell you that every pipe underneath is a resonator
Either setup, you can't go wrong. I did mine in stages. Replaced the mid-muffler first just to see what it would sound like. I heard a difference but wanted more....and wanted it right then and there. Shop I went to didnt have what I wanted, so I called JustMagnaflow and had the resonator overnighted and installed the next day. Each time, the shop charged me $15.00 for the install...not to bad.
Still wanted more, so I went with a K&N CAI/SRI Typhoon. Spent eight hours last night on a 2 hr. job, but thanks to everyone here, I got it installed.
I've been driving around just to hear it.....and I love it!
