M90 Supercharger

Anyone with a CT-E Supercharger ever thought of slapping a M90 blower in replace of your CT-E blower? With the V6, I'm sure 400whp is reachable. The price on the M90 to upgrade is under $2000 but the whine on this sounds like a train when flooring it. Anyone willing to be the first?

I think there is a guy on here that does this. NVAV6 or something like that. I believe he mainly posts on the "other" site though.

Paul doesn't come here much if at all but I'm pretty sure he's done a M90 on a J.

This site filters some other sites, v6perf being one of them.

Been done. IMO, it should've been standard with the supercharger kit.

If you're looking for 400hp, the turbo kit is the better deal. It will be easier on the engine and require less in the way of fueling.

I think going from 200 WHP to 400 WHP would be hard to learn for most. I remember going from stock to SC ( 60+ HP) to full exhaust (100-110 + HP) and the car was a whole different car and took some learning to keep it on the road. I can't imagine Going from stock to turbo power levels especially the way boost comes in with a supercharger, without some real practice. I think had the m90 been used by Comptech we would have seen more blown engines and crashed cars. The stock sized blower made nice power, it just was stuck at 320-340 WHP, but with the management options at the time the m90 was much tougher to run.

^it very much is.

I'm tired of people buying 300+ WHP cars when they can't even handle a 150WHP car.

I started out at 100WHP-200WHP-300WHP-350WHP- and now I'm at 500WHP. Just to learn how to control the power of any car.

FWD is easy, RWD with enough power to spin the tires at any legal speed is more fun than a person should be allowed to have.

The M90 might have saved engines. At the same boost level you're going to have much lower charge temps, less chance of detonation. Making too much hp was never the problem, detonation due to super hot charge temps and a primitive "engine management" aka crushed FPR were to blame.

I think if you're a bad driver, you're a bad driver. By bad, I mean both unskilled and/or driving stupidly. Power makes it easier to lose control or get in a bad situation but I know many people including myself who were driving 600+hp cars by age 18 and have never had a wreck or a spin. Controlling the car, even drifting is very easy to learn. Learning when to use the power and when not to is the hardest part. Self restraint plays a large role.

True. Lots of people in Texas have no idea how to control even a 150WHP car let alone a 400+WHP car.

I see too many dumb drivers on the road. Some that drive like a granny on the leftmost lane on the highway. Some that don't know how to yield even though there is a big sign YIELD. The fundamentals are what people forget. Racing and daily driving alike.

Going from 200 to 400 whp on a turbo isn't that hard. You just get a more heavy lift on the front when stepping on the pedal. If it was all motor, it'll be a challenge.
