Looking for advice with gasket replacement?
Hi guys Im going to change my gaskets (Intake Manifold gasket and TBS and gaskets) but wanted to know if there is really a difference in quality as well as HP gains between the P2R$140+shipping vs Outlaw Engineering$115 with shipping.
The reason for this change is the valve cover seal needs to be replaced so i will be doing the other two, any suggestions of a brand or should i get it from the dealer?

they both try to isolate the heat from the manifold. Not sure if there is much difference in quality, and HP gains are to small to be measured on a dyno anyway if you factor in the tolerance of the dyno I have Outlaw and it seems to help a little w the heat soak, but may be imagining it. I think the thicker one may cause a little more difficulty with a CAI install

I have no expereince with the P2R. However, I can vouch for the Outlaw Engineering Thermoblock Spacer (click here).
The Outlaw spacer is very under-rated on Acurazine. I have often compared the temp with my finger after the car was completely heat soaked on a hot summer day. The temp of the intake runner immediately below the spacer is scalding hot versus the temp of the intake manifold immediately above the spacer is ambient weather temp.
Granted, I do have the Ultimate Cooling Mod (click here). But, the huge temperature difference between immediately above and below the spacer does show that the spacer does work to stop the migration of the heat.
On the other hand, any spacer is fairly useless if a person does not have the Ultimate Cooling Mod (click here). The thermo spacers (all brands) work on the concept of stopping the heat from traveling from hotter regions to cooler regions across the gasket interfaces.
However, the oem TL is an oven under the hood. That heat from under the hood will be the primary source of heat to make the intake manifold and throttle body to be scalding hot. And, the thermo spacers (all brands) are unable to prevent this. Only the UCM will prevent this.
