For the n00bs: these are commonly called spherical bushings. They will also reduce wheel hop.
i would think ride quality is going to be a bit more harsh in the front end. i have driven an Si with the full race units and they are very nice, have to make sure you grease them up. they can make some noise....they are stated for race only.
