Just mufflers no cat back?

I am looking to put just 2 mufflers on my TL. They need to fit through the a spec lip on my 06. I am wondering if anyone have any suggestions for type of muffler's that WONT sound like fart can's, and where to buy them at the best price?

I should mention, I do have a mid muffler delete, that is all!

Do you have JUST magnaflow muffler's of your tl? any pics, sound clips?

it's hard to decide from they're website which one is right for the TL, and how loud it would be etc...

No, I also have a magnaflow resonator. I'd imagine just having my mufflers, which are relatively small, would produce too much of a raspy sound and not be pleasant. I'd suggest looking at other muffler sizes (14" inch body or bigger) if you are only going to run mufflers - while there will probably still be some unpleasant noise, I don't think it will be rough or sound too bad. I'd really suggest having a resonator though.

Everyone talks about the resonator. As I said I have removed my mid muffler, so what would replacing the oem resonator with a aftermarket one do, other than noise? where do I get this part, and which is the best one for a deep noticeable tone?

IMO get a catback. there is 0 performance gain in just taking mufflers out. majority of the gains come from the bigger piping

I have all mufflers/3rd cat/resonator replaced with straight pipe and a Magnaflow muffler put in. Cost me all in all about $250 at my local muffler shop. Here's a clip if you wanna take a peak..

Smokd, no offense, but that is exactly what I don't want my car to sound like. It is way way to raspy. To each there own.

So I need more info on what a magnaflow, or dynomax will do when put with the mid muff delete.

Your thread title seemed to indicate you just wanted straight pipes from the cats to the mufflers. You are going to get a raspy sound unless you keep a resonator on there.

No, I don't wanna do that. I just want to add a dynomax, or magnaflow resonator. Like I stated I already have the mid muffler delete. I want a little more sound that's all.

I just want to know which one of these resonator's sound the best, and where to buy them, and what part number to buy.

if im not mistaken... trancemission has straight pipe from the cats back to magnaflow mufflers... and i did not hear any rasp... the drone was tolerable inside the car... and sounded sexy from the outside...

Check this out. https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-performance-parts-modifications-112/custom-magnaflow-exhaust-718259/ Ignore the tips. These are magnaflows with the magnaflow resonator and mid-muff delete. If you use the dynomax resonator then it will be louder. Use a shorter resonator and it will get louder.

I've basically got the same thing as NCTL05 and the sound is similar.

I got all the cans from ebay and piping from a place called mandrelbendingsolutions. Cost me about $400 without using any of the stock parts.

I originally tried the smaller Dynomax resonator but the drone drove me crazy.

For 100 bucks more you can just get the whole cat back.

For me, the build is 1/2 the satisfaction. I was also able to change things to suit my preference in sound and drone.

It definately is not the best but it does the job just like all the rest of them.
Funny thing is is that is sounds better than most exhausts I have heard here for twice the price.
People just won't but stuff unless it is over priced.

There is no doubt about how hard you be representin' Canada.

Google it, you may be able to get it cheaper. The base stock tips look better IMO.
