In my stock 3G, I hear my sound of goodness coming from the exhaust
I would still expect his to sound the same with intake too
I know in teg's you could hear them screaming blocks away but the RSX it had a long build up and then really screamed in the higher RPM's. But this is just from my expericences.
I personally would like to see one from comptech( as i am sure others would) but with the wait on the SC who know when that is coming out.

All you need is the car jack that came with the car and some standard tools. I think the instructions tell you what you need. Off the top of my head:
- Drill
- Screwdrivers
- Socket wrench set
- Metric wrenches
- Container to put your coolant in (and a funnel to put it back in your car -- I used a small cup, not the cleanest thing)
Can't think of anything else. If you have a standard set of tools in your garage, you can probably do it yourself. I had never worked on cars before my RSX (last car) and decided to just do it and don't regret it at all. It saves you money, you are intimately familiar with what you did and how it works, and you can be proud of it. I never go into any sort of repair/modification without having a full set of written instructions on how to do it and make sure I understand them. I'm fairly new at doing things to my car and have never messed up once. I've installed two suspensions now, an exhaust, two intakes, a full stereo install, and HID lights on my RSX...all without problems. And I was brand new at each of those types of installs when I did them.
Check out this website: www.helminc.com - you can order a service manual for our cars that has detailed instructions on how to do ANYTHING to your car. That's where I figured out about where to drain the coolant. It's very handy if you plan on doing anything to your car.

Thanks for your reply... I'm excited, might go ahead and try it myself.
You mentioned that one of the parts that came with the intake didn't fit? Can you go into a little more detail... and would this problem happen to me or everyone doing this? What part did you have to replace it with?

Oh right, the part that didn't fit was one of the 3" hose clamps that came with the intake. All I did was go to Home Depot and grab another 3" hose clamp from their plumbing department. The one that came with the intake was just slightly too small. The ones at Home Depot have a much longer thread area so they fit properly. I'd go pick one of those up at Home Depot before you start too, just in case they send you a small one.

^ bypass valve is just a valve that will stop water if the intake sucks it up. If you do have water in your CAI, the bypass valve allows the intake to perform as a short ram intake, pulling air from above the valve.

washed my car and decided to take a vid of the intake...
for those who doens't have it..here's ur chance to hear it...but then..it's A LOT different then wut it sounds in real life...maybe just my DC sucks...ahhaah...
anyway, the intake sounds louder when i opened the hood and those "thump" noise are made by applying quick throttle...so you won't hear it during normal driving...(depends how NORMAL u drive)

hmm...that sounds pretty good! I think a lot of that deep rumble is absorbed by our insulation so you can't really hear that when you're in the car. You don't notice that sound much when you're driving do you?

Didn't some of us pay $1200+ partly for a more mean note to the quiet ride? Just offered up a thought for those who wanted more of the engine sound to be heard from within without sounding like a 4 banger with a fart can...
