Just got an AEM CAI...question
Hello all,
I just recently purchased a used AEM CAI from a member on the boards for a GREAT price. Just a few questions I'm hoping everyone can help me out with:
1. The intake did not come with the soft mount. I can purchase them online for $5-$8, but there are a few different sizes (25mm X 6mm, 25mm X 8mm, 16mm X 6mm). Does anyone know what size will fit our TL?
2. The filter on it is the old oil type, not the new DRYFLOW. It's also a little banged up. I'm on the fence about getting a new filter. If I did decide to get a new one, is there any filter out there that is supperior?
3. On the back side of the intake, there is a small gash. Looks like the tube was rubbing against something. I've heard of people getting holes in their intakes, so I'm kind of concerned that this will be the weak point where that happens. Do you think I can fix this with some JB weld and maybe something on the rough part of the car to soften the rub? What if it does rub through? Does AEM cover this in their lifetime warrenty, or do they claim that this is the fault of the owner?
Thanks in advance for all of your help everyone!

the vibramount I have no idea what size... the rub part is rubbing on the chassis which is due to improper install, and that is not where the holes occur, they occur on the mounting bracket which requires the vibramount
jbweld? for the hole is a great fix
you need the original invoice to be convered under "warranty"
and lastly get a dryflow filter, $40 on ebay

Hey guys, thanks for your help. I just ordered a dryflow. I'm also going to order a 25mm and 16mm soft mount and figure it out. I'll let you know which one works.

Also, does anyone have the instruction manual for the AEM installation? I saw the DIY video, but it was a Fujita in that, and it didn't show where to mount the soft mount. If someone is local, I can come pick it up, or if you're bored, maybe you can scan it?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Ok, the vibramount length is 5/8" X 6mm (16m x 6mm), I have a copy of the instructions if anyone needs, and the intake is now for sale on the blackmarket!
I've got me a V2.
