J-Pipe - help identify

Hey guys,

I bought locally in Kansas City a j-pipe I thought would fit my 05 6-spd. I took some pictures shown below. There seems to be a fitment issue... Everything I'm pulling up online with the part# FPIM-0180 tells me it's a 04-08 TL j-pipe, but maybe somebody can tell me otherwise. Not sure what I'll end up doing with the pipe yet... This J-pipe looks like it was on a vehicle for a while and I know it's exchanged hands twice. Doesn't look like it's been altered or has any significant damage.

Sorry if you have to tilt your neck for this. It uploaded rotated and photobucket won't let me rotated it to the right angle (really odd...)

Thanks in advance!

xclr8 v1 jpipe. It's probably bent and thats why it's not fitting?

Can you bolt on the two pipes to the cat and then bolt the flex portion?

Looks like yours is off compared to this photo.

I had the flex pipe and the back rear pre-cat bolted on, the front was just off. The two pipes don't line up. I guess the only possibility is that it was bent or made for another TL.

Try it with the flex portion unbolted.

Yeah, the flex pipe is definately bent. A muffler shop should able to replace that flex pipe

Thanks guys. I'll have to do it this weekend or next when I get some time. Probably take it to a muffler shop.

Thanks for the pic. Yeah I see it now. I'll likely just take it to a shop to get the flex pipe replaced and have them weld a section to straiten out the front.

Damn, nice pic of all those exhaust parts lol.

Yea OP, the pipe was modified for whatever reason. Don't modify the front! Just have them change the flex pipe and you will be all set.
