Why do we change the filter? In hopes of more HP/TQ and better fuel economy.

I didnt change out my filter.
i believe the stock oem filter is the best and provides enough air for the motor.

I have a aFe Pro 5r filter . Its reusuable/washable and seems to breathe a bit better . Has more intake noise it . Not sure if it really increases hp/tq . I needed a new filter when i did this , so i got it .

I'm just messin' with ya. But seriously all Hondas have a resonator & snorkel. Their performance engines (including the TL) always breath from outside the engine bay. So were probably not gaining anything substantial by removing all that BS.

A K&N is actually a MUCH MUCH worse filter. They let in way more dust than a stock filter. And as long as the stock filter is sized correctly, it won't be a restriction. And yes the OEM filter is sized correctly.

Perhaps you do. But only REAL reason to bother with this mod is for the better sound. Adding a washable cotton gauze type filter will only harm your engine in the long run.
