Has anyone taken out the butterfly inside the intake mani...it looks like the ones on the gsr and prelude manifolds...

 

What's the benefits?

 

thats the dual stage manifold ....at low end, below 3k, it stays closed, dividing the im into 2 seperate plenums, for efficient lowend torque...at high end it opens up turning the IM into one big plenum...it has like a boost effect for the high end allowing more air around the plenum. Leave it alone...if it opened somewhere high, like where vtec engages, then yes, but it opens at 3-3.2k....once after that, its always open, at every gear shift, its always open.

thats just a simple explanation i can give...i dont feel like getting all technical right now lol
