aem cai v2 is popular. however, it doesn't really add much HP....as many may say it's a noise maker at WOT. i have the aem cai v1 (my first mod), butt dyno says there might be something there, but it's probably all in my head with the growl that comes out at WOT. it also hisses lke a turbo would at lower speeds starting in first then shifting to 2nd (for those with 6MT). the CAI mod pretty much will yield similar gains and growl.
the j-pipe...your choices: ATLP (i believe keeps the 3rd cat, but there is an updated version that maybe debuting this yr that is suppose to give the greatest gains-that's the rumor at least from heeltoe), XLR8 (V1 keeps the 3rd cat but may have clearance issues, V2 deletes 3rd cat and has no clearance issues), RV6 (deletes 3rd cat, considered the latest and greatest with the greatest gains)...search for each on eor just search for j-pipes and you will find a lot info/reviews. the j-pipe will give the best "bang for your buck" in terms of horsie and torque gains.

I'm running the rv6 v3 jpipe.
the jpipe was my first mod. I bought it because I wanted a little more power.
<cue tim allen's man grunt>
it doesnt make the car any louder. but the tone is a little deeper.
you also wont have a check engine light because there are no sensors on the third cat.
the third cat is in place to achieve the ULEV recognition.
60-90mph pulls are awesome.
when you do hit vtec, 4700RPM, a deep wooshing sound occurs. its awesome!!

go fast toys for the car is on hold at the moment, unless someone wants to donate to my modding fund. or my maintainance fund.
i believe sharksbreath is running the AEM CAI v2 and the RV6 jpipe with a catback.
the j-pipe got justn in trouble along wth running his summer tires....
from what i gather the XLR8 v2 and rv6 v3 will get similar gains.

j-pipe does NOT throw CEL. if you delete 3rd cat, no CEL b/c there is NO sensor for it. the car will not know it's missing. there are only sensors on the primary cats. meow.
gains are slightly less on the j-pipes that retain the 3rd cat.
