Intake Broke

I've had the AEM CAI installed for a week and looked under the hood this morning cause I heard a quick vibration against the firewall. I saw that the mounting bolt snapped in half. I didn't have much time cause I had to get to work but I checked the clamps at the throttle body and they are on there pretty tight. The tube doesn't move to much and the vibration is only happens when I start the car. So I drove it to work this morning and don't think I have a problem. At least I don't hope so.

Where can I get another mounting bolt? Any other work around from the local ACE hardware store? Is driving on it bad? I was thinking of getting a bolt that will thread all the way through and get two rubber bushings.

Don't worry, your car wont blow up. I also have an aem. What part broke, the mounting bracket welded to the intake or the little 2 sided mounting piece that bolts to the inside, under the fender- and also to the intake. If its that little piece, just bolt back up with something soft in between the mounting bracket(maybe a rubber washer or two) and painted surfaces. Or you can contact AEM and try to get that little piece of sh*t bolt, of course. Thats what i'd do!

I talked to AEM and they are sending me a couple of mounting bolts. I'm just nervouse that the intake might fly off the throttle body or something.

He said that they are prone to break but hasn't field to many calls with this problem. He also said that a bolt with rubber bushings would be to rigid and could break the mounting bracket off of the intake tube.
