Installed Hyper Hot InaZma Voltage System. Wow.
Installed Hyper Hot InaZma Voltage System. Wow.
I had one of these bad boys installed:
http://www.eautoworks.com/html/ORD-1-1-1-25481.cfm
For $226. And all I can say is wow. The only thing I can really compare to, is that it feels like I get the instant responsiveness and 'kick' of a TSX with the power of a TL to back it up. This mod goes up there with the RSB and CAI as one of my favs.
Sorry for lack of real pics. Camera got soaked on a rafting trip and is currently drying out...hope it works

Leedog: I too felt my car was more responsive with the voltage kit. But after a year and a half with it on, I think the downside may be that draws too much current. I am going to take mine off sometime this week. I can't have my car die on me again!
I'm running the Sun Hot Inazma kit in my car, my first mod, and it made the car more responsive and smoother running. The battery seems healthy so far. What seems to be the problem with these kits and does anyone have proof of these kits causing harm? Just curious.

sorry manuel, my camera is busted
if you're looking down on the engine compartment, my regulator is installed under the large right front plastic panel
Hrm dyno wont show anything
This product is one of those things that does not show the increase within the Dyno. I guess a good way to explain this is by using a simliar mod to compare. When you install a short shifter or w/e u call it, you will not see DYNO results LOLLL!!! This is sort of the same type of thing, you will see better throttle response but it will not show on the dyno. Hope this helps...
Anyone just installed the Hyper Ground System alone? Do they like it without the voltage thing? Since I am hearing negatives about this voltage thing killing the battery and stuff, I am not comfortable with using it, but I want to make sure at least teh hyper grounding system is ok.

I had just the grounding system on for a few weeks until I finally figured out how to mount up the voltage thingy. I'm thinking the problems were more in the aftermarket batteries that people mention? My car definitely seems to have better throttle response after adding these. I have the Sun kit in blue.

IMHO - I can't see this mod. I don't beleve we need this one AT ALL!!!! Just MHO.....

gqchicago...........I cant help but wonder why you do not have a cai installed?

Hehe...yeah I know I know! I'm thinking about it...they just make me a little nervous. I'm actually thinking about the pulley next before the CAI...but a CAI isn't out of the question. Acutally, what's definitely next is the backup camera...I have the Dom's unit already but I need to take a day to rip apart the trunk and install it still, I plan on Dynamatting (edead actually) the rest of the trunk and speaker/sub shelf too when I pull out all of the liners.

From what I understand about edead is it's an hybrid/asphalt-based deadener vs. a pure butyl based deadener like Dynamat Extreme or RAAMmat. If you live in a place where it gets hot or cold the asphalt based mats could give you problems. RAAMmat is a much better alternative and is effectively the same as Dynamat Extreme where edead is not.
I did my TL doors, deck, trunk with Dynamat Extreme. When my wife got her xB I wasn't going to spend $$$ on Dynamat Extreme and found RAAMmat as the only quality, value-oriented alternative to Dynamat Extreme. Ended up deadening the entire xB with RAAMmat and even the installer said the RAAMmat was effectively the same as Dynamat Extreme (just a little bit thinner).
Not saying that edead won't work, just that RAAMmat is a better alternative at very little additional $$$.

Good luck with install.
Here is the overall view of my Hyper Voltage GT install with DIY ground kit and the ground points I used. unit is mounted with a modified bracket to the underside of the strut bar per the hondatuner article

Path of daisy chain of grounding cables from chassis to motor to alternator to throttle body ending at Hyper Voltage device.

Daisy chain throttle body to Hyper Voltage device

Ground point at chassis and tranny.

ground point at top of motor

Grounding wires are from an auto battery supply house and come in various lengths already made with the connectors in place. $19 for the entire set instead of the $110 thas Sun is asking. The GT kit is a little easier to install since you can terminate your grounding cables to it rather than going to the add on battery post.

Next Mod or something else?
My ATLP exhaust should be in the mail soon. I'm thinking through my next mod. I've got 4 things planned over the next 6 months or so.
1) Sun Grounding $450
2) Bored throttle body $200 or so
3) Clutch upgrades $1500 w/ install
4) Tien coilovers with EFDC ~ $2000 w/ install
I'll probably keep focusing on the HP for now and move on to suspension later. I'm also looking at building a custom supercharger system based on the Jackson Racing Rotrex.
You voltage guys, think it rates the next upgrade?

Oh man, not these grounding kits. I thought they died out in like 2001. $450 for one of these things???
Honestly man, my #1 upgrade if I was you would be the Tien SS w/ EDFC. Not sure if you're going to see any gains with a bigger TB unless you're boosted.

You got a wierd mod list there...
- Clutch is gonna be more, onlt upgraded clutc out there is Clutchmasters, and it's $1500 BEFORE install. Why do you need that though? Stock is more than fine for N/A mods.
- Bored throttle body will do no good unless FI or bigger displacement...
- Building a custom SC... Well, that's an adventure. How ya plan to tune for it? Why not take that ground kit money and buy the Comptech SC...?
- $2000 for tein + EDFC...? I paid $800 lightly used and did it myself... You can too. That's steep.
Correction
My pricing was going off memory.
SunGrounding is like $200 and the voltage kit is like $250.
My current build is this...
ATLP exhaust, J-pipe and straight through
P2R spacer
Pulstar plugs
Unorthodox Racing underdrive pulley
5Zigen ZR520+ w/ 245x40 rubber on 18"
Tein stuff - $989 for the coilovers, $329 for the EDFC, then 300-500 for the install.
http://www.acuratlparts.com/product.php?pid=10
I've got 75,000 on the car and I've got a little slipping in the clutch on hard takeoff and hitting second gear.
I may just hold off on the Supercharger until I can pull the motor next year at 100,000 mi. Then I'm consider a head port + crank knifing as well.

I have not seen much more than anecdotal reviews on these kits.
My thought..... if you actually saw gains with this kit, you may have seen the same gains if you would just clean and check your stock grounds.,

i'm sure alot of the "better" response is more mind over reality; but at the same time, the principles/idea of this is also physically sound....just probably not as noticeable as ppl think.
it's like installing the TB spacer and thinking you suddenly go alot faster.

this is something i learned from experience. i don't have the dyno sheets to prove it, so if you don't believe me, that's your God given right.
Mounting the ground wires to the alternator will actually smooth out your alternator ripple current and actually prolong the life of the bearings and the reduce ground loop feedback.
mounting ground wires to the thermostat housing will prolong coolant life, and radiator life as well. the theory behind that is to prevent electrolysis and pitting in the metals throughout the engine.
a lot of japanese (jdm) tuners are also grounding the fuel rail and/or filter or pump (if external).
the best thing that i have personally experienced is to cut the ground wires on the ignition coils, and make the ground path as short as possible. i've done this on my dc5 and while i couldn't feel it with my ass, the dyno didn't lie. it doesn't give you any mind blowing numbers, but it does help smoothen out the lines. i used a steel bar that had bolts through it and grounded it out to the engine and also ran a cable to the battery. cut the ignition coil ground wires, with enough slack to solder and heat shrink short leads to it. then i attached it to the bar. it's the cheapest mod you can do. if you're really tight for cash, 4 gauge amp wire will suffice. there are many articles about grounding ignition coil wires and some companies actually make prefabbed grounding bars for certain applications.
