I want my first loud exhaust--HELP!!

hey ziners!
so i have my 05 acura tl and it is totally blacked out i love it! but now i want to take the nest step and start doing some engine and performance upgrades

I want to get a nice exhaust. To be honost i am not to sure how it works so i would love some feedback on like the difference between a cat-back or a full exhaust swap. I understand the basics but i want to know a little more.

As i said before my exhaust is the 2005 3.2 acura stock exhaust. I want to get it to sound something like this, without spending too much money maybe somewhere between 4-500 thanks in advanced guys!!

I want to get it to sound something like this:

Our exhausts are on sale and there is free shipping to the cont 48 US right now. It won't be $500 but a few hundred more you can get the exact sound you want.

My exhaust setup: 2.5" (you have 2.25" now) piping from cats, mid muffler/rear mufflers delete, aftermarket resonator, & "Y" split. $150.

I would not trade it for any other setup. It is very loud, deep, and aggressive. The best part is.. zero rasp. People compliment me on my exhaust everyday, I love it.

Do not do it if you are planning on doing PCDs...

I'm still partial to my rear muffler deletes and Dynomax resonator. If you wanna stay around 500 go custom, you can get pipes from mandrelexhaustsystems.com in 2.5" or 3" for $200ish then add mufflers and tips of your choice. If you wanna go cheap just hack off some mufflers and get pipe welded in. The stock resonator is huge, swapping it to a smaller one gives it a more aggressive tone while keeping rasp under control, the mufflers are straight through but the piping is kinda small.

Delete the three mufflers and leave the resonator, you will have a sound like this

If you want loud. Straight pipe
If you want a nice exhaust then a full catback there are a few to choose from. XLR8, Richie, Megan, Greddy, etc

This man speaks the truth.

If you want loud, get my set up.
If you have the money for a nice full cat-back, those are your options...

OP, if you want to take care of both your wants, performance and sound, go with XLR8, RV6, ATLP, Greddy, or custom build a catback system. However, your best bet is to keep an eye out on BM, to stay close to your budget.

If you just want a decent sound, I recommend you start off by deleting the mid muffler. It doesn't cost much and will give you a little more of a growl, but no extra power. You can get a j-pipe, which will give you the most HP for your money. Nice thing, all of this can be done close to your budget.

Check the black market locally. Alot of times in a major city or surrounding areas people are looking to trade back to stock for their aftermarket systems. Thats what I did and saved about $500 doing so.

Go with XLR8, sounds amazing.

I have a 2008 acura tl. I deleted the mid muffler and the stock res. A little deeper, a little raspy. This weekend I am about to add the dynomax resonator. Thinking about deleting the rear mufflers. curious? any thoughts?
