I just want to go faster.
Right now I have a 2004 TL (STOCK), but I just got it and I need to go faster - what would you guys advise?
Really, really fast. What was that? Yeah - that fast.

Why you want to go faster? Not enough speeding tickets for you.. yet? Do you know how expensive those tickets nowadays? Before you step on the gas pedal, think of the consequences first. Just my 2 cents. . . Be safe out there !

i agree with what everyone is saying about he seems alittle too eager to go faster...but, im not much older than he is and when i was his age i had a 650WHP 1989 supra. no speeding tickets and no accidents, and no i didnt buy it that way. The car was ONLY a track car and was never used in any illegal street races. all im trying to say is, just because of his age doesnt mean hes going to do this kind of driving on the streets. lets give him a chance to defend his need for speed (thats sounds funny. ps2 anyone?)

But did you come on a message board and post a thread wanting something so fast that will blow your brains out? Especially on a Luxury car, this isn't a Supra (all performance). If you have so much money to spend on, you'd rather get a M3, C63 AMG, or something similar. But since you made the thread, I would advise you to look at the Turbo thread (performance section also) and put a deposit or make full payment $7kish, it is a full kit, and all you need is a custom exhaust, and you should be making over 350 WHP easily (about 400 at the crank).
Oh yeah the fact that he has no knowledge of cars (assuming) and asking too go fast is asking for trouble.

You guys are all really ripping on me here. Come on now, don't judge? We're all here for info right? Now I know you guys want to help me out - plus I haven't had a single ticket in 4 years of driving. That's gotta be worth something.Everybody's gotta start somewhere. You did.

dude i know u wanna go faster!! im 19 too and my advice for u is to get another car! i mean u can spend much less getting another car already turbocharged and such and still have money left over from selling ur tl to do the mods necessary for a 350+ hp car without wasting money. i mean i am gonna spend about 10 k next year for turbo and lsd 6-speed swap alone. U can do a hell of alot more with 10k with another car. The only reason i have my car is because i love it to death, and am willing to spend the $$ for a unique car. Not to put u down bud but if speed is what u want search for another car. Tl/accord builders here are classy, sensible drivers not young and naive like us, so look for a car that is a "race/rally car". Believe me man, to play with these cars u gotta spend $$$, and the limits aren't even known yet so u can blow up ur engine spending thousands on turbo and such. sorry if i come off as rude, but seriously if u really want a "really fast car" FWD TL/Accords are not the answer. RWD FTW, FWD FTL

best bang for the buck to make your car faster is to make you faster, spend a few hundred dollars for a couple days of driving school with a professional. faster and safer too

Insurance for us younger drivers is ridiculous (with reason).
I've 3 tickets that are still on my record and I'm 19 .
I'm on my mom's insurance, but pay my own premiums.
$3200 a year....
My moms Subaru Forester XT costs here $500 a year in insurance :/

I would advise you get some really good insurance and a lawyer on retainer.

The TL will never be fast unless you want to drop money for FI... even then, you're probably better off boosting another car.
No offense to the people on here that are constantly pushing the envelope (mad props to you) but at the end of the day, its a TL and FWD.
When you finally realize this (took me about a year), you'll stop chasing down all the performance mods that have a horrible whp/$ ratio and just make it look pretty.

Nothing wrong with FWD on the track, a TL that will surpass 400whp with the turbo. At the moment now, we have lots of possibilities thanks to Rodney and JANDRnextlevelperformance. I wouldn't be surprised that the TL will be a 10 second car soon, though it may take awhile, I believe it will happen with the proper $$$ and time spent on the turbo. Twin Turbo soon!
Anyways, J-pipe + UR Pulley best bang for the buck along with RSB. Only thing that is over priced is maybe a catback? Nothing is overpriced or has a bad whp/ratio unless you don't tune the s/c.

My POV is that if I wanted a FAST car, I wouldn't have gotten a TL... thats all.
And your last statement... I think many bolt on mods for the TL have a bad whp/$ ratio but since the aftermarket options are so limited, TL owners don't care.

To the rest of this thread:
You can't compare prices between the supercharger and turbo. The supercharger "kit" is not a complete kit. It's half assed and requres many additional parts to work right. The turbo kit is complete, makes over 100hp more, over 150lbs of torque more, and won't blow the engine nearly as quickly as the supercharger.

There's so much more to a 10 second car than just power. You'll need 600whp in 3,400lb a FWD car and once it starts to hook you're going to start breaking stuff, lots of stuff. My car was only around 500rwhp when it ran the times in my sig but FWD requres much more power because it will never hook that well.

WOT in the new ATLP V2s!

Do you even know how to control the power you have now? Its not all about the speed but the driver. My 1st car was a 79 Pontiac Trans Am, dad had a 96 TA with a 6 speed that I'd borrow, then I got a 2000 Grand Am GT...not all that much power but more than enough get me into more than enough trouble and a dumb young age of 19 & a few close calls.

Seriously. A little more power to be peppy is fine but yeah. It's a lux car not sports car. Fwd isn't helping. I have a Porsche 944 that is a project car. Now that's more like it. Ps I spent $20 on it and yes it runs. More important ly take a driving class. It's amazing now well you can drive when you learn how. Even at that speed limit you learn to carry that speed further. So take a class or 4.

I don't know that I have the energy to do that again lol. Once the parts are in place it would likely take a year's worth of runs at the track to get it to hit the number. It's actually not the hp I'm worried about making, it's the parts breakage and time spent at the track. But who knows.
