how much potential does the TL have?

I picked up my TL a couple years back, love the car.
But now i'm feeling my car is a little underpowered compared to some cars out there. My buddy has the V8 S4 and i get smoked pretty bad. Which is why i'm gonna be installing the following parts.

rv6 precat delete
atlp j-pipe
atlp hi flow cat
atlp quad exhaust
p2r TB spacer
p2r TB gaskets
ur pulley
aem cai

I'm an auto and probably putting down 200-210 at the wheels stock, just wondering for the members who have similar parts installed how much are you guys putting down to the wheels. After these parts are installed i'm wondering if theres anything else i can install to improve performance/efficiency,I've also done some minor weight reduction and the car is 100lbs lighter. And yes i know about the supercharger, saving that for the coming september.

Where you gonna find an atlp quad exhaust?

PS, no matter what you do, S4 is in a different league...

can you list what you did to reduce weight? there is a thread out there about weight reduction but i'm curious what you've done. i think with those mods your car is going haul ass!

btw, atlp quad is not available anymore only the atlp base

That is a pretty nice list of mods that should yeild some real nice power. No more quads unless you find one in the BM. The base is the same except for the tips.

I agree, S4 in another league. Plus those motors can hold some power unlike ours. I'd say your gonna need some forged internals to handle more boost if your gonna hang with a V8 S4. Thats just my guess.

I think you might need a RS4 to play with the fully bolted supercharger guys, althought I don't follow Audi too closely.

True. some of the S/C TL guys are puting down roughly 295-330whp on the high end of the scale.

I just looked it up and I was thinking of an RS4 not the S4 as far as HP went. I thought the S4 v8 had closer to 400. Maybe it would be a good race, although the S4 will get the hole shot I would imagine cause of AWD.

The honest answer is the TL has no potential compared to most performance cars. I see people spending rediculous amounts of money for just a few hp. Think about it, a $5,000 blower adding a measly 50whp.

Spend $200 on an LSx cam swap and you have the same power gain.

Take any factory turbo car and add super cheap mods for 50+hp.

Handling wise it can be a real competitor for cheap.

x_X sad to say but that 5at ftl xP i have a 5at and i deeply regret it now. only thing im thinking is boosting it but even with the boost setup to maximum gains the 5at seems like it cuts it whp from like... 320 whp with a 6mt to like barely 300 with the 5at =\ with the same mods on the car but the diff. tranny.

^^ rough estimate but i was looking at the 300whp+ thread and i read the cars mods and specs and it seems to make sense =\

bottom line, the TL really doesnt have much aftermarket support to keep up with other performance cars as mentioned before, and the 5at just makes things even worse x_X

weight reduction only counts on the drag strip. in order to get gains on a 250-300whp car you need a dramatic amount of weight reduction

on a 450whp+ you can take 100 lbs out and gain .1 in a quarter

the base tl is probably at 205-215whp. with those mods you will get up to around 255

yeah atlp stop making that last quad dual... i was up for the last one.. then missed out on it, I would prefer the greddy evo 2 if any other exhaust as far as performance, looks and sound u cant go work, I have no regrets+ everybody looks @ it more b/c everybody doesnt have 2 giant cannon they normally have quad or stock.....And a V8 S4 come on thats giving my bro's Evo 10 a problem .....cut the small mods and get a suppercharger if thats the case, b/c thats the only way u stand a chance...holla
