How loud is the base 3G TL exhaust from the outside?
I really like the sound when I get into high rpm's, but I've always wondered what it sounded like (if you can even hear it) from the outside. I never get to hear it because I'm always in the driver's seat and I rarely see any TL's where I live.
I searched for videos on youtube but can only find videos where the camera is right behind the car.

videos on youtube still wont help.
a car sounds entirely different in real life VS through your computer speakers.
a stock base TL exhaust does not sound like much of anything.

best thing to do is how someone else drive your car and you be outside listening.

Three Wheelin'
1. Start your car.
2. Put your foot down on the brake pedal
3. Put the car in gear.
3. Put a couple of bricks on the gas pedal.
4. Hop out of car and watch it drive off.
5. Listen.

Just about dead quiet, I'd say. I hated that about this car when I first got it. Manual transmission but you can't even hear the engine. That's why i started modding it before I even got the temporary tags off.

Is this a joke? If you want to know what water sounds like do you turn on the faucet or YouTube a bunch of f***ing videos and then post about it in an online water forum? I'm surprised you have the brains to turn on your car.

Man, give this person a break.
Yea, the factory TL exhaust is wimpy. I got rid of the middle muffler. I was worried that it wouldn't be loud enough but it is perfect.

I'd rather look at a nicely modded car than hear it, but that's just me.
And it's not like we have an M3 or anything that sounds fantastic.

Color me generic, but I am content with the stock exhaust note of the TL. After owning an S2000 with a Spoon N1 and losing a portion of my hearing from it, I now have an appreciation for an unaltered exhaust, even if it is restrictive.
However, back to the original purpose of this thread: I have heard a TL's exhaust outside when given almost full throttle, and the exhaust does change tone right after crossing into VTEC.

I have found that if you take a few baseball cards and put them in between the spokes in ONLY the rear wheels, it gives a nice loud ROOAAARRR. Pretty cheap mod too

You can add an aftermarket exhaust , delete your catalytic converters, your exhaust will then be loud!
If you want to keep the TL classy like it is meant to be, you could get high flowing cats, and a j pipe, and get some sound for your exhaust without it being too loud.
Or, you could just leave the TL exhuast mellow and quiet. I was tired of reading the dumb answers you got on here, so I wanted to give you some decent information.
