I just got a new 06 TL A/T and now, thinking about installilng a CAI. Since, now, I m having a tight budge after all the downpayment and stuff, I m tempting to install it by myself. Awhile ago, they were saying that even lab animals could do it, and now, they changed their line abit by saying even a kid could do it. So, I m just wondering how hard that is. I just printed out the instruction from the web and sounds like it is pretty straightforward. So, for a beginner like me, is this project possible and what kind of equipments I have to use ? I know that I am wasting ur forum space ( among the tech guys who are installing SC and stuffs ) but I really need to get some advices from you guys. Sorry for this and thank you very very much in advance.

P.S, If I decide to let the workshop do this, how much will it cost ( I m living in NY ) and do u guys know any good place to install these aftermarket parts in NY ?

 

Easy easy easy. A beginning could do it with no probs even. Instructions are straightforward and easy to accomplish. There are several tips here if you search around about installs and techniques that go through the drivers side wheel well rather than having to remove the front bumper cover at all....its very easy though.

 

I'm plan on getting mine installed by a member here on the forums blktl01 i think to get mine installed soon. I PMed him and the price is really pretty reasonable and he has done a few of them for people already so he knows what he's doing. He's in North Jersey in case thats too far but PM him.
