How do you tell what stage your exhaust is?

Today i took off my resonator and my mid muffler and straight piped them both. I am really pleased with the sound it is making. I ordered 2 magnaflow mufflers that will be hear friday. I was wondering if that makes my exhaust any stage? Will someone tell me what decides what stage your exhaust is?

I may be wrong, but the stages (1-3) dont include aftermarket mufflers. Its just the mm delete, smaller resonator and straight pipe.
Once you go with the mufflers, tips and custom piping, you pretty much have created your own custom cat back exhaust.

If you want to know for the purposes of telling others what you have. Tell them you have a custom catback, its more impressive then any stage lol

OP why make another thread when you already had this one going? Plus justnspace gave the info here too.

Who cares what stage? I don't know who made it up on here, but it's just to simplify describing minor exhaust changes, I guess rated by volume increase. I called mine 3.5 cause it's the resonator from stage 3 but with the rear mufflers off instead of mid muffler and nobody can stop me, but I bet it's louder than stage 4. Do stage 7 if you want.

Some people just do work to their exhaust and some try to name different mods to the exhaust by stages which is kinda retarded.
Funny how things spread.

I got stage 2,o yea I got stage 3,well bow down bitches I got stage 4,
It's just retarded if you ask me.
