Headers? I thought you couldn't put them on the 3G TL?

Headers? I thought you couldn't put them on the 3G TL?

Hi guys,

Please read the article at the link below regarding modifications to an 04 TL that included headers, and a light weight fly wheel. I was under the impression that headers could not be added to the 3G TL due to engine design. Hmmmm?

Common "bolt-on" headers cannot be added to the TL engine. What the team at Thunderhill did was to fabricate a new cylinder head and manifold to replace the stock unit. My guess is that it was a megabuck modification well beyond most of our wallets.

They replaced both primary catalitic converters with Hi-flow downpipes. Basically just one tube, instead of a 3-1 arrangement.
