Guessing a 1/4 mile- J32a3 6 M/T

Hi guys, recent new member on here. Can anyone give me an approximate guess on what I would run with a j32a3 swapped 2006 av6 6 M/T Accord in the 1/4 mile. It's a completely stock j32, and made 230whp/215 torque in February. This was EVERYTHING stock (stock tune, I,E), winter wheels etc. I have a 4 inch intake waiting to go on. Car has a Brandnew clutch, trans rebuilt, Compression test showed the new motor is in like new shape.

Did not get a chance to run this car at the track yet, and was curious to see what times it would be capable of just with an intake.

I appreciate the reply's.

I was hoping to get into a 13.9-14.0. Is this possible with an intake, j37 manifold & throttle body with some decent tires ? I know there are so many variables involved when running at the track.

Very possible with 255/40/17 summer compound

Ok, cool. That is a pretty reasonable list to get into that time range.

Do it when it's low 60s and below 40% humidity and a good launch WITHOUT doing a burnout first in the wet box and you'll definitely pull it off

Just thought I would share the car: 2006 av6, 6 speed manual. I swapped to a j32a3, and in the picture above, was able to make 230 whp (227 lowest pull), and 215 torque. Was pretty impressed, as this was stock ecu, and stock everything. Really wonder what opening up some air on this motor will put down. I hope for 250whp in the future with the right mods, and still being a reliable DD

With full bolt ons I managed 260whp with my automatic so you will see around 275whp with yours. Strip some weight out too and you have a potential 12 second car if you run on drag radials or full slicks

Your ET will depend on if you have a driver mod or not. Tony K was running 14.1 @ 99 on a stock 6MT with 2.2 60fts, and the clutch was slipping on the 2 - 3 shift. Plus your weight will make a difference. If you're a fatso like me (6'3" 290) it will be slower than if you're 5'3" and 120lbs.

Have you done the slave check valve delete? That will help a lot with 1/4 mile.

That's impressive with a base auto ! Honestly didn't know 275+ whp would be capable of running 12's..

The stock clutch slave cylinder has a check valve that will slow engagement of the clutch so its a smooth buttery engagement for old people. There's a number of threads on how to so I won't cover it here, but it is probably the SINGLE BEST mod you can do to this car and it's FREE.

I don't know if I will be able to head up to the track this month.. I will more than likely go up there in April while the temps are still relativity cool. I will get a baseline time ( with the exception of a 4 inch intake on by spring), and go from there.

As for where I will be running, it will either be in Cayuga (Toronto motorsports) or St. Thomas Park (ON)

I've never done the 1/4 so let me know if you go. Cayuga isn't too far for me.

Elevation is a big factor, quick cars are on the 15 s range here at ~5200 ft, we are a second off of sea level.

Launch is the key, bork that and you might be in the 15s. I'd expect you to trap in the high 90s with that combo.

yes, 60' is important at the track. Also, the traction issues these cars have, even in stock form is a negative variable when launching. I honestly don;t know what Ill trap speed wise, but from what I gather, I can say 14.1-14.2 is very possible with the right variables in place (temperatures, winter tires, launch etc.) Again, I will use this as a starting point for the future mods.

When my Chevelle was stock (other than a cheapie dual exhaust) it ran 16.80s at 83 mph. First time out after headers, intake, 4 barrel carb, and cam, it was a 16.96. At 95 mph. Second run was a 16.90 at 96 mph. Went through the water both times, spun the right rear all the way through 1st gear. Oops. But a +13 mph in trap is pretty huge.
