Greddy Evo2 + Richie 3rd Cat Delete Resontated?

I recently got the Greddy Evo II on my TL and the drone at 2k-3k RPM is just getting to me... I looked into resonators and thought, while I'm at it - why not just get the resonated 3rd cat delete test pipe?
Does anyone have experiences or knowledge of this setup? Does it cut down the drone? About how much? Does the 3rd Cat delete mess with emissions and CEL?

Thanks in advance!

I highly doubt that will it cut the drone down that much. You shouldnt get any CEL's from the 3rd cat delete. But the drone from 2k to 3k is just how it is. If i have my son in the car it cant be good for him so i try to stay either below 2k or higher than 3k.

I just posted my experience with my Greddy install. I also have Richie's test pipe. It does nothing to reduce the sound. As a matter of fact, it probably helps in making the exhaust louder.

But do you have the resonated test pipe?

It came with Richie's j-pipe for free, so not sure if it is. I thought they all were the same.

^ Does it bulge out or is it straight? You can also look inside to see if its resonated. My guess is that you have the resonated since the non-res version hasn't been out for long.

Mine bulges out. It kind of looks like an aftermarket cat. Now that I think about it, it is resonated when I looked through it before the install.

Like I said, didn't help much as far as sound. Love the power!

For some reason it won't let me post the link, part of the link keeps getting blocked, I think it's because he's not a vendor here...

Anyways, this item?

I think you installed both at the same time? Greddy + Test pipe? In that case you can't really compare since you would only have heard the combo, but not the Greddy alone. I'm kinda on the fence about this now since most members reported no hp gains from the res. test pipe and it would only silence a little...

Thanks to everyone who replied

Actually I had the test/j-pipe on with the stock exhaust. Got a big bump in low to mid range power. Plus a tad bit louder, but not much. The car was still quiet. Then I put the Greddy on.

To the OP, did you notice a drop in your mpg? I use to get 29/25 mpg, but now I get 26/22 after the Greddy install.

Dude, I actually gained 2mpg to about 26mpg after CAI, Exhaust, and TB Spacer (same time) and I never got more than 24mpg on my daily 60 mile back and forth for work. 70% highway so I think it should've been better but guess I have an auto so meh....

Yeah, I think it was because I was pushing it more because of the exhaust. Now that I added the 3rd procat in place of the test pipe, my low end power has restored. My top end power did drop alittle, but not much. The sound has gotten better as well. Still kind of loud on the low end though, but highway sound is better. The sound and power is the perfect balance for now.

I'll probably custom fab the mid pipe with the Aero Resonator, from my research that seems to be the best approach.

Will post back when done with results, I might get a sound meter to get some empirical data as far as how much drone got cut. People on the forums are claiming around 70-90%.

I would say that the Aero cut the inside cabin drone in half, but half of a lot is still quite a bit.......
