Greddy Evo2 Cat-Back Exhaust for 03+ Honda Accord...

Has anyone thought of retro fitting the GReddy Evo2 catback exhaust system intended for the 03+ Accord V6? As we all know the TL and Accord share the same chassis, and a lot of other performance components, so hell why wouldn't an exhaust system fit?!?!

I am quite confident this system can fit and provide yet another option for us modifiers. We may have more options than we think.

It probably won't be a direct bolt on considering it's intended for the Accord Coupe, and will probably need a pipe extention in order to meet the length of the 4 door TL.

Part Number 10156705

that would be interesting to see. I wonder how it sounds, and if it's available for the sedan at all?

EVo2 systems are typically really deep in tone. I only see it listed for the Coupe.

I think it woud be cheaper to make a custom one instead of buying this one for $1100 and then spending more money trying to get it to fit correctly

Perhaps someone in California could contact Greddy and ask to do a little Research and Development on the TL. Tell them to specifically test fit the 03+ Accord parts on the TL. I am willing to bet they will let you have the parts at a discounted rate.

MSRP is $1050.

My previous car was a 94 Acura Legend GS sedan and had the Greddy SP catback system installed on the car. It was intended for the Legend Coupe but the only thing that needed to be done to fit was have an 8 inch extention on the pipe and it lined up perfectly otherwise.

It's worth a shot guys come on.

Well, I sort of contacted Greddy. I e-mailed them saying that they should consider making things for the 3rd gen TL's, and I told them that there is a market for this car, but they replied by saying that they have no plans for that car. The way they replied it seemed like they are tired of responding to every 3rd gen owner and telling them the same thing, it was kind of rude

That's weird. I called them 2 days ago and spoke with someone letting them know the accord strut bar actually fits on the TL. The person was very thankful for the piece of knowledge and told me they would relay that to the R&D Department. Perhaps with this piece of info being relayed to them they might bring a TL through their bay door and test fit various parts, specifically the Accord evo2 catback.

It would only behoove them to do so.

not necessarily. i doubt the demand would be that great. Some people doing exhaust work do it for the sound more than for the performance, so i don't see why people would drop $1000+ for an exhaust system that produces a nice tone, and probably minimal gains when they can do the same thing for under $200.
The people who are doing exhaust work for gains already have the comptech exhaust.

I have a Greddy Evo2 cat-back from my 03' Accord V6 6spd if anyone wants to buy it. Traded that car in for a 06 STi which I just sold for my 07' NHP TL Type-S 6MT

well, test fit it onto your type S.....just to give us an idea of if it fits, and if so, you will have a much easier time of selling it unless you decide to keep it for yourself, in which case I would be willing to buy your type S exhaust if I have the extra money!

Right on dude...you're our lucky winning ticket to see if this modification is possible. If you wouldn't mind eye balling the exhaust or taking measurements it would be appreciated. Or even an attempted install would be magnificent!

Do you have any comments on the power increase or tone it makes?

Honestly, as far as performance gains for the Accord it wasn't really much. I really don't think any of the cat-backs really do. I was able to get around 20hp and 15lb ft. of tq on my STi by installing a catless turb-back set-up without a tune, but I don't think you can really have that success with Honda/Acura's.

As far as the sound goes though...it sounded dope...almost G35ish but with a deeper tone (you guys all know there's a little spot in our hearts for that G35 exhaust note). Looks wise, the cans are slightly too big for my tastes but really aren't all bad.

Well it just so happends that I work in service at an Acura dealership so if I get bored one day I'll have one my guys see if it fit's on the Type-S. My only concern is that the TL is definatley longer than the Accord and Greddy does not make the Evo2 for the Accord sedan which is a little bit more similar in length. If you've seen the tips on any Greddy Evo exhaust they really aren't made to be extended so I don't think it will work.

we would not be extending the tips but rather the exhaust itself at the piping from the cat.

you can find it for a lot cheaper then 1000, i know i've found it for about 750-800. I would know becaue i have an accord and i searched around. I can't remember what site it was but they offered free shipping too.

i hope it has sum performance gains.. or at least more than comptech... imo, comptech isn't enough for my taste, and I want a deep sound on the TL =) .

Get bored and test fit it!!!! I would love to know for sure if it will line up with the hangers. I know this system has got to sound good...evo2s make every engine sound really deep...or atleast on the cars that ive heard.

What kind of intake were you using? I hope it is the AEM V2

It was the AEM V2. Had the original cai first but then switched it. That was actually the best modification I did to the car (sadly enough after spending 15g's). Great sound and it actually showed about a 20hp gain with the IAT sensor relocated into the intake tube.

The Greddy Evo should have a slightly better benefit as far as performance goes because of larger diameter piping. I know for a fact it sounds better.

Do you still have the AEM V2? If so, can you try putting it in your car and see if it will fit?

Fellow TLers, I've made a new thread about getting a petition going for a GReddy catback system and I've pasted what Chris Lum in the R&D Division for GReddy had to say about us...

Check it out...

Hey guys, I don't want to impede on the thread, but can you guys please just go on this thread and just add your names to the petition even if you guys already have exhausts, whether comptech or not, whether you want an exhaust or not, i need names (bodies) to sign up on the petition so we can get GReddy to manufacture us a catback...Thank you for your cooperation. Here's the website:

This thread is old!! But I bought a Greddy evo2 cat back that was on an 06 accord for $120
What a steal!!
I thought it would fit. But turns out it needs to be made to fit.
Its perfect from the cat until the end of the y pipe. When put together, the muffler and tips are actually too narrow to fit where the tl outlets are. The y pipe needs to be extended about 3 inches on each side. And the hangers on the mufflers need to be moved and cut
but having the 2 hi Flo resonators take away any sign of rasp that the non Res ones would probs have.
Sounds like a g35/350z on roids. Deep growl and quiet cabin noise.
I got the cat back for 120 and installed for 200. So a full brand new cat back installed on my TL for 320. Great deal IMO. Go on YouTube and search NoblesTL and there is a video of some revs and a drive by

Have a nice day!
