"Flexible" Air intake tubing??

I havent seen anybody post anything regarding that flexible air intake tubing that can be found at pepboys or even on ebay. Has anybody used this for a CAI type application? If so, how is it? Im thinking of giving it a try because i do not think the 300 for a CAI is worth the money.

You would be making everything worse with that crap. It would be terrible for flow and there's a reason you never hear anyone talk about how great it is! lol

Start saving for the cai lol

my opinion in sense is that any kind of intake made or bought will typically perform better than stock being that its more restrictive but would you really want dryer vent ont your TL?... its not a smooth air flow opposed to a solid air intake tube so it could be better and i dont believe you have to pay $300 either i bought mine for $100 shipped and came with a free K&N filter part # is HD05AC but im not sure if its still available... but just think of popping the hood and people saying "whats That"... Its your call...

If you take enough of that stuff you can run it to the cabin and always have a CAI as long as the a/c is on...

If you don't think a CAI is worth the money (which it probably isn't, but sounds cool as fawk) this stuff definitely isn't worth the money. Keep an eye on the BM and you can pick one up for way less than $300.

However, if you do buy the dryer vent, make sure to post pics.

why bother even moding the car if u don't think its worth it. There is cheaper cai out there the only one that cost close to 300 is a v2.

If you want a real CAI get one that's smooth and less restrictive vs. that tubing that's being sold. Otherwise stick with the stock system and remove the baffle and some other stuff to make it a bit less restrictive.

The sad thing is that even after all of that you aren't gaining very much HP, maybe a few at most. It'd be a better idea to spend you money on a J-Pipe or other mods.

reminds me of a buddy in hs that began ricing out his Avenger... he used the same flex pipe to help build some 'ram air' to his intake...

I've seen my buddy's brothers car use this as a way of getting more air from his headlight cutout to a short-ram intake on his Teg, but as far as using it as a full intake I highly doubt that it would be worth it.
