Flashpro, to get or not

Flashpro, to get or not
i have a 08 tl type s with xlr8 v2 j pipe and non res quad exhaust, aem v2 cAi and lightwheel pulley. Its been about 2 yrs since the install and now im in limbo to get flashpro and tune it finally. I live in north jersey and yosolo is the big guy around here and would have him dyno tune it, ( or if anyone knows anyone good with acuras in the area) The car seems very slugish in the low rpm, very slugish then once it gets to 4-5000 rpm it kinda pulls then vtec is alright but was jus wondering if flashpro will help out my everyday driving and make the power more instant, since it would be about 1,000$ all said and done
the engine has about 85,000 miles on it
any feedbad is awesome thanks

there's lot of threads on this, please search for them in the performance section. they'll have all the details you need/want
quick summary: it's worth it.
tuner recommendation: there's one guy that tunes most of our acura TL cars (PM me if you want his email)...he does the tunes over email and does an amazing job...and i bet it's much cheaper than any dyno tune you would buy.

In my opinion it's very worth it. It was the missing link to the TL feeling strong and happy. I'd be willing to work out a fair price on my flashpro. I originally thought to keep it all as a package deal on my TL when I sell it, but I know that parting out will be a lot more cost effective for recovering mod costs. PM me if you're interested.

Sounds to me like you're looking for more low end grunt, which isn't really going to happen with Flashpro. My car got faster after FP (time slip proven, not butt dyno claims) and it's more hyper once in vtec, right up to about 7100-7200, but it's still relatively low on torque under 4700 rpm.

Mine def got stronger down low per butt dyno and much more responsive as well across the whole range.

Then get a dyno tune.
For email tunes, you have 2 main options. Dom or Vit.
Do your homework, the information is out there. I'm sure you gathered that I'm not in a huge rush to sell because I might be selling it as a package deal with the car. Or I'll part out and flashpro will be listed at a discount, along with an 07 manual ECU...should make for a nice package deal someone would be happy to get.
I'd be glad to answer any of your questions, either way.

Def worth doing if you've got other basic bolt on mods done. I've got a TL-S A/T with the common mods and definitely feel the difference in response and all around performance from low end all the way through the power band. Dom is the man! Doing a re-tune once I get my UR pulley and IM spacer installed in a couple weeks!

We feel it's one of the best purchases for the TL! It really makes the car more aggressive and changes everything from throttle response, VTEC engagement, rev limiter, and more.

It's definitely worth it but as mentioned above, you should get an exhaust system first assuming you go get a dyno tune. That way you don't spend $$$ on multiple dyno tunes. But if you roll with Dom as I have, you can tune now, add the exhaust later, and tune again all at a one time cost. I got my Flash Pro early even before I got my first bolt on. I used the stock tuned MAP and the way the car behaved and responded was noticeable but I doubt any ponies gained. But how the car feels everyday is the best gain of all. I got a stock Dyno baseline before I started ordering bolt ons. My 1st stage in bolt ons were RV6 PCD & J-pipe, that's when I started street tuning with Dom. I went on the Dyno a 2nd time so Dom could tune my vtec engagement. I did some pulls without his tune and lost 11whp. Second stage I installed 4 inch intake, 3.7 Intake Manifold, ZDX Throttle-body and Port & Polished Lower Intake Runners. After every bolt on I installed, I got re-tuned I definitely felt the improvements. I didn't get to dyno after those mods because I began to relocate to Florida at the time. I also decided to hold off on a Dyno until I got my exhaust from the Rv6 True Dual exhaust last batch. Last stage in bolt ons I installed UR Lightweight Crank Pulley, P2R Intake Manifold Spacer & Rv6 True Dual Exhaust. I got re-tuned again and went to the Dyno recently and made 268whp / 239wtq. I'm glad overall for what the Flash Pro & Dom's tuning has done for my TL-S Auto. In comparison to other stock TL-S and some modified ones with no tune I have driven and comparison is day & night. So if you're looking for overall driveability, throttle response, and some power boost, Flash Pro is definitely worth it. If you can get one used you save a few dollars as well. I will upload some more videos later including the last dyno session I had and possibly some graphs. I have also uploaded some earlier graphs in this thread: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-p.../#post15445510

Really? this is quite bad actually! what the hell is going on before 5k? no power/torque? Have you log that dyno run with the flashpro? I want to see what happen so please send that log and current map? what was the gear used for all the tests? Did you used you heavy flintstones wheels on all the tests?

Ok I get it now the run that was chosen as the ''best'' run to use as a comparison graph was the one with the most whp but that run was not WOT all the way, only at the end. If you look at the 0:40 mark of the first video we can see that the other runs were ok... flat torque line compares to the one used for the max whp comparison...
If you could go back to the shop and ask for a graph reprint and use run number 002 vs the 005 that was use it that graph. It would be better

Sorry OP for straying your thread a lil off topic but all in all I personally believe Hondata Flash Pro is worth it. Driving an improved drive-ability, better throttle responsive, knock free TL/TL-S is worth it. If you are looking at Flash Pro as "just a power adder" then I do believe it's not what you're looking for. I love how my 08 Auto TL-S performs and I don't regret buying a Flash Pro. With great tuners like Dom who knows these cars, you can find confidence in your car being in good hands with their tuning! After you get it and get tuned you are gonna ask yourself why you didn't get it sooner
