Finally some Type-S QUAD Stainless steel TIPS!
Finally some Type-S QUAD Stainless steel TIPS!
So I've been debating for quite some time now to buy a ATLP exhaust.
Is it worth it?
Do i really need it?
What i really wanted was just the looks of it. I'm not doing performance mods on my car so i just want my TL to sound nice and look good and handle well. So my friend and I came up with custom tips.

These slide directly over your stock TL-S QUAD tips. Made of Stainless Steel. We did not need to weld or spot weld because it was such a tight fit that we had to use a flat plate or towel to hammer it in. But I would say, to be on the safe side, a single small spot weld is more than enough to hold it in place on the back.
The oem tips are not noticeable until you bend over and stick your head at it. black high temp spray for autozone would help but over time it will turn black on its own.
We are testing the waters on ebay.

Let me know what you guys think!

^ absolutely not! Oem tips looks great! But these are to make them look closer to the ATLP quads. they lose the slanted cut. The shorter tip is 1" shorter, the diameter of the tips are 3.5". I like this set up because they look more aggressive. You can extend these how ever much you want. These goes directly over the oem muffler tips, so there is no need to cut anything at all. If you do not want it pushed out that much, you can push the tips in more. The shorter tip is 1" shorter but if you would like, we can can add more or less. These tips are made upon orders

I just can't justify $1195.00 msrp for a new ATLP quads or even $600-900 USED just to make it look nice. If you are going for performance than by all means, you can go with the ATLP/XLR8/RV6 set up.
For my set up, I did a simple 3rd muffler delete (stage 1) and these tips. I love the way it sounds and looks great.
I know many other Aziners, like me, dont want to spend that kind of money for that result. So why spend 600-900 USED or $1195.00 New when you can get that look at a fraction of the cost?

Well those definately dont look anything like the Type S quad tips. IMO anyway.
They will have to be set back in much further and slash cut to the angle of the bumper to represent anything close to the OEM Type S tips. I personally think the OEM Type S tips look better than any aftermarker tip made so far. The closest to OEM is the new RV6 true dual which almost replicate them exactly.

I'm not understanding what you're trying to say. These tips are more for the ATLP design. the tips sit over the oem quad tips. The new tips does not have the slash cut

I dunno sorry I guess I was confused. I saw a title that says "finally Type S quads" so I assumed it was gonna be OEM type s tips. Sorry for the confusion, but for what it's worth I think the OEM tips look a lot nicer. :-)
Thank you!
haha thanks man!
Not a problem! I just think these looks more aggressive!
I had them a little far out. They can be pushed in though. I will take some pictures after i tuck them in!
Thanks man!
These are actually slightly polished. I did polished them a lot more but decided to undo that. There's an option of how much polish on the auction if the buyer is interested in more or less!
Good thing is you don't have to chop off your oem tips!
They can be polished more! These are semi cause i chose to have it that way! Looks more aggressive to me IMO
Thanks man!
I like it. Personally, not a huge fan on the way the ATLP tips look, but it looks good on your car. I applaud you on your creativity! good work!
And is that an r1 in your picture? i have an 06 r6 raven; just curious?

I got one!
Haha yeah but it's okay. I'm happy with these!
Thank you!
Check out the new picture i took today! tucked in!
These tips goes right over the oem tips. oem tips does not need to be cut at all.
Thank you! and that is a 07 CBR600RR!
I like the oem tips! But this design is for a more aggressive look. IMO, the oem tips looks great, its classy, and flows well with the bumper. I mean, you can always take the tips off whenever you want! Sometimes its fun to change it up a little
Thank you! I appreciate the comments!!
Here is a quick picture i snapped today. And for those of you that don't like the finish, these can be polished more. I actually like this as it was lightly polished.

good work, could use some tweaking for better fit though. The main point is that it conceals the oem type-s quads well and can be taken on and off.
I was also thinking about going for the ATLP quad style when i cut my rear to fit the Type-s aspec lip but i went w/ these, oem quads on steroids
(the picture could be oddly angled for the tips but they fit exactly the same as the oem type-s and follow the same contours. Took some good time and research to get these)

not trying to hijack your thread but will sell my beast of an exhaust to a norcal/bay area resident
