Finally!! RV6 V3 JPIPE & HFPC INSTALLED!
So late last night me and a buddy finally installed my HFPC's and RV6 Jpipe. For the record there is a little bit of rasp. I was hoping for none but it is minimal. No smell either, which is nice. As far as the power gain..not bad. Of course it sucks having the stock exhuast, but in due time that will be next. I know there are a few guys with this set up, but for anybody thinking about it..DO IT!!!

subscribed. I want to go with this set up.
Could you elaborate more on the 'not bad' part? What year is your car? Any other mods? Is your car AT or MT?
I hope you dont mind but I changed the title of your thread so that when others search for this topic, it will pop up.

it shifts the power band up.
I def. did not gain torque, as I'm dead even with a stock 6MT Tl until 3rd gear.
Once I hit vtec in 3rd, I pull away.
Before PCD's i used to hate normal driving at 2k.
With PCD's, the car feels so much better at 2k rpm. I can drive it comfortably!

Thanks for the info on this setup. I dont want any rasp whatsoever so now I know that I do not want to get the HFC's. I do plan on getting the V3 jpipe though which doesnt change the sound much at all I was told.

I don't know how to multi-quote (cause I suck with computers). So..
@vietxquangstah, I would have to say Justn pretty much hit it on the head, I think the only difference is a couple of HP more with the PCDs but the way he described the gains is right on.
@ggesq Thanks for changing the title of the thread, I hadn't slept yet from last night so I wasn't very coherent. My car is an 04 Base 5AT, my daily with no other mods. Too many miles to put more money into it. As far as the "not bad", I think I was expecting a little more noticible gain in power and sound. It does have a slight burble to it and like I said a leeetle quick rasp. I would recommend this set up especially paired with an Exhuast.
@JTS97Z28 I am with you on the rasp, but trust me it's really not much and my buddies didn't even notice it and said I was crazy. I think this is the best combo for the $$ and like we all have heard from Morrisey and BostonSilverTypeS, if our lucky enough to have the True Dual Exhaust, this combo is unmatched!

I have the same setup as well. I can say with the mid muffler deleted there is some rasp but not much, looking to buy comptech exhaust soon so that will fix everything. I actually think that i gained low end torque aswell, its just that the car pulls much harder on top so that bottom feels a little behind. But as the other guy said the car does seem a little bit lighter on its feet so there must be some additional low end as well.
I love it all by the way, also had V3 PCD isntalled prior to going with HFC and i think the PCD make more power, at least it felt that way but i couldnt stand the smell.

Not sure if the V3s are just as good, but I'm on the fence of whether to order HFC or PCDs; I guess whichever makes more power will be my purchase.

The stock exhaust is restricting flow and hence your low end will feel good ~2K rpm, as skinnier pipes are efficiently pushing out the exhaust pulses but at higher rpm it will suck....get the exhaust/wider pipe and you will feel what am talking about....

you sneaky SOB....congrats on the pickup dude....your built is coming along great....

Morrissey, you are the best! I don't know which I like better, the fact that you found a road with no traffic or the fact that you put the camera on the side of the road by itself and did those drive bye's. LOL! Either way the car sounded mint even before the catback.
@Mr. Swoosh. Where you been man? I installed the SC weeks ago and unfortunately I've got multiple misfires that I can't figure out. Even after throwing too much damn money at it! My car runs like it's got a bad plug wire (if it had them).

With the RV3 J pipe, HFPC, stock CB and a mid muffler delete.
Did you gain any low end torque and stop and go traffic drivability?
I have the J pipe and 2.5" pipe with magnaflow muff/res, mid muffler delete and then stock from there back. I am looking for the low end gain.
Thanks

the bolts pop of easy and the front is a piece of cake....the rear is a mofo...wiggle wiggle your way out....
if you want to reduce paying the shop, do the front at home and take her in for the rear....yes you can drive with only one HFC/PCD installed...

Sucks the rear install is difficult. I want some of these but they're not legal in Cali so I thought of running these or deleting entirely with a re-install come smog time. Wait, maybe it's worth it to pay for the rears every two years? Hmmmm

I can't remember for sure but believe the HFC's won't pass smog here only path is to install and remove every 2 years after the first.
