I usually don't let my vehicles go below a 1/4 tank, so means that I gas my TL once a week and the Ody every other week, but recently with gas prices going up I've been getting gas more often keeping my cars on full most of the time....so what do you guys do?..and have you noticed that carrying that much weight most of the time is worse than just giving in and paying whatever $$ wherever you are??...

Frankly, I don't think it makes much difference. Maybe there is a slight penalty for the additional fuel weight, but stopping and restarting more often has its downside too. Whatever floats your boat.

I heard any amount of time you turn off your engine is better than idling. I would think anything longer than a minute is better than idling.

I read a news today. In some asian countries where people are paying $2 a litre, Government encourages people to fill up their tank only half way through and more often.

A half tank (8.5 gallons) only weighs about 54 lbs and that's only as long as the gas stays in the tank and isn't burned. Obviously, any extra weight uses more gas, but I doubt 54 lbs would make a measurable difference.
