Question Exhaust Upgraded needed w/ Supercharger?

I know for a turbo car, the bigger the exhaust piping the better. But for a Supercharged car, does this apply as well? I know you are creating more power and common sense would tell me that more power equals more combustion. What throws me off is that a naturally aspirated car needs to be more restricted in the exhaust piping because then you will loose performance instead of gaining (backpressure?). Someone educate me.

More air goes in, more air wants to come out.

That being said, running no cats might be a big gain potentially.

I ran the biggest custom headers I could find for my 98 Formula, 1.875 into 2.000 step headers with 3.5" collectors since I was told by an 8 second friend that it would help. I went 9.4@144mph this year and the exhaust might have helped. But I am making 750rwhp.

Dude! You need to race that thing on Pinks! (SpeedTV Series) Race that other guy from Chicago....Tony Palermo or Dustin Bassi in a local grudge match! Take his ride from him and make him cry! BTW---thanks for those tips on launching in that last thread!

LOL, I am friends with Tony and Dustin, and neither would race my car heads up. I just sold Dustin some rims.

Well...let em know I thought it was a good show! Dustin must be building a new car huh....as I remember he lost his gracefully to Tony...was quite the sportsman about it, at least I thought. At any rate....BIG fan of the Pinks! show on Speed TV....although I always wonder what the deal is when somebody wins a car hands down and then gives it back. That has always baffled me because you could always tell that if the situation was reversed...they wouldnt have done the same....
