I just got myself a 2006 Acura TL and I was wondering what steps I need to take to get a nice sound from a good brand. I read into the RV-6 True dual but that only fits on Type-S models. Any Suggestions?

 

Go on www.healtoeauto.com. You have more options for yours than I do for my 08 tls. But if it's the quads you want, you'll have to buy an aspec/type s bumper to fit it. They sell the bumpers on there for around 450. I have the RV6 j-pipe and the RV6 cat with the resonator removed and when the v-tec kicks in, it's just screams "get the f out of my way!" it's got a very aggressive growl. I'm going to zoro today and customizing a set of dual quad mufflers to complete the exhaust. I want the RV6 catback too but it'll take roughly 8 weeks! to get to you and it's worth the wait but....no. I'll see how this plays out first.

OP I advise you to search to get more info on what you are trying to do. DefUA7 gave a good repsonse. Also, check out youtube videos to hear some of the sound clips of different exhaust i.e. XLR8, ATLP, etc.
However, just remember that youtube videos sound is different than in person, but it is just to help you decide on whats the "best" sound.

 

And make sure you note what else they've done to it as well. i.e just catback, non resonated catback, j-pipe/cat deletes, etc. I got the mufflers put on today and LOVE IT! It's got that real clean deep tone and no rasp at all. I wish I could post some pics or a vid but I dont know how yet. It looks like the xlr8 quad exhaust. You have 6spd or auto?

 

If anyone plans on running a quad exhaust on a base TL you'll need a Type-S aspec rear lip (just clearing it up for anyone that doesn't know).

You can buy a Type-S aspec rear lip from heeltoe for a whopping freaking $450 ( you still have to pay shipping -_- )

or you can do like I did and hit AckTL05 up and he'll get you a Type-S rear aspec lip for $250 SHIPPED to your front door (and yes it comes painted). That's $200+ in savings. I feel bad for anyone that buys the Type-S rear lip from heeltoe. Way over priced.
