Cat deletes, delete alot of low end torque esp. if you live in New York you'd feel it. Maybe you should wait for ATLP's.

My rear primary cat failed after about 2k.... E-Shift was playing phone tag games, and being a PITA to get in touch with.. so i drove there.... gave it to mike, and was expecting my "replacement"

instead, they "fixed" it.... low and behold, at about 6k on the cat, it failed again...the substrates didnt turn to shrapnel like 04accorcpes, but they were "loose" and jiggling around....

this time, they REPLACED it... i had a total of about 9-10k on the cats when i wrecked the blackura... i sold them to a member (forgot his name, he had a DMM TL) and after a few hundred miles, that same cat failed again!!! loose substrate...

$1,100 pro cats.... $250 pre-cat deletes.... i gained 20whp peak from the deletes, but i definitely sacrificed lower end tq

Damn all this losing low end has me 2nd guessing the PC deletes..I want the top end but I don't want to sacrifice all that low end. I like the torque with the V6..ugh.

I think it only happens with certain catbacks. When I had the EVO2, I lose some low end power. After switching to the stock mufflers with the EVO2 piping, I regain power back. Now after mating the EVO2 piping with borla mufflers, my power is pretty even across the power band.

The EVO2 mufflers are bigger diameter than most catbacks available for the TL. Which contributes to less back pressure.
