E-Shift Pro Cats Installed

Hello All:

I had the Pro Cats installed on Thursday. Here are the results:

I had the car dyno before the Pro Cat install and the readings were much lower than the readings from SoCal. WHP of 263 Torque of 218.

After Pro Cats: WHP 277.6 Torque 220.7

With HBP: WHP 293.7 Torque 239.2

With the HBP the car ping-d very bad, so we went back to the regular pulley. Octane in NorCal is only 91.

We will attempt to modify ACM unit to provide more fuel when needed and put the HBP back on.

The boost level dropped with the Pro Cats installed, so some of the HP may be lower. Current boost is only about 3 - 3.5lbs.

The car does drive much smoother with the lower boost and the Pro Cats installed.

My wife says it sound different.. My "old" ears can not tell.

More later..

To be honest, if you're complaining about the dyno results, give me your car and I will be more than happy and excited at those numbers!! You have to keep in mind that your numbers probably will never exactly match others, because of where and when they are dynoed. Changes in anything from humidity and temperature and even dyno will affect the results.

All in all, I wouldn't be dissatisfied with your results. It's a hell of a lot more than my stock, but soon to be modified, TL motor. I'm hoping to dyno my car as it is stock and then post the mods find out what I'm getting. Unfortunately mine will not be near 300, but we all have to start somewhere.

That's because th TL costs $8000 LESS than an is350...

at the end of the investment cycle, k6biv has less in his car and MODS than he'd have paid for a new IS... and we all know we'd prefer a blown TL over a stock IS.

I'm kinda pissed that Porsche Cayman will blow my TL's doors off, but hey, that's comparing apples to oranges.

I think with 93 or 94 octane feul you could pull better numbers.

Hello All:

I use Shell V-Power, which in CA is only 91 Octane. There is no higher fuel in CA at the normal Gas Stations than 91 Octane.

I could go get 100 Octane race gas, but that would be a constant problem.

I will keep you all posted..

Nothing is really made to do that

Some things are naturally adaptive, and i think that has a lot to do with engineering. On the other hand, you have what i believe is an EXCELLENT platform in the TL, but the support for the non-diy engine builder isnt there. To make anything short of a comptech blower work, you are in for a ride trying to extract power out of a tl.

I think that a cenrifugal adapted is in order as well. I have always been surprised vortech or ATI havent jumped on this. They both made kits for the ford focus!

Aside from that, nice numbers it would seem. The correction factor, altitude, and dyno loading can wildly vary your results as im sure you all know. One thing you must keep in mind, is realistically you should just use the dyno to repeat results. Then you can see the gains, not so much the finished product

take care
Mark

great #'s. have you thought about sun voltage stabilizer? i think it would only do you good with the charger & the cooler installed.... i am assuming the cooler requires power?

No power needed for the "cooler".. It's a little radiator looking thing.

Thanks,

Tim
