Dyno question

Sorry if this is in the wrong section. It seems the only shop near me that will tune my car has a
Dyno Dynamics dyno. Is anyone familiar with this make and is it pretty accurate with it's torque/HP readings, meaning does it read higher than other dyno makes?
Damn cut and paste font.

Thanks

It's a heart breaker dyno. It'll read low. It's a load bearing dyno that reads 15-20% than say a dyno jet. BUT, its all based on percentage. All of the dyno's read slightly different. Some of the dyno dynamics owners have re-adjusted their dyno's readout to be similar to a dynojet to keep customers happy and have a decent reference for whp. But giving you all different angles on this dyno I've experienced.

the main thing about dyno's is being able to compare your gains from your mods.

NOT the final numbers.

Thank you for the info. The tuner at the shop did say it reads lower than most dyno's but I thought the Mustang only that did that. I understand all dyno's will read a little different and that dyno's are mainly for tuning, but when you post up, it's nice to know that the dyno used wasn't adding unrealistic gains. Thanks again!

As I said to bouncer, I understand the purpose of a dyno. If I had the time and money I would have dyno'd after each mod. Unfortunately it's tough to get to do anything with my car these days. As I also said, I didn't want to use a dyno that would read adding gains that were not there. Cause we all know that when it comes time to post up people will let you know if your gains are higher than thay should be.
