Does the ATLP exhaust require manual transmission?

This is probably the silliest question you guys will read on this forum, but I don't know jack about cars.

I am not an acura owner yet, but I've been watching videos of the ATLP exhaust on a TL. I love how it sounds. i was just wondering if you require manual for an exhaust like that.

I do not know how to drive manual, so chances are when I buy a TL it will be auto. I'm scared that auto won't be able to work with an exhaust like that. Am I wrong?

Thank you for the quick reply. Honestly I've never been a "car head" and I know nothing about cars. I'm not one of those people. But I feel like people will laugh if they know I'm driving an auto transmission with a nice exhaust. not that i care, if it works, I'll do it when i get the chance :P

But will it sound worse with an auto tranny? I would assume manual would bring out the "beast" in it more...but maybe I'm wrong and it's the same?

Also, if i literally bought just the exhaust on a stock type s (2007 is what i hope to get) and had it installed, would it be ok or would i have to get a lot of other parts just to make it sound good?

I wouldn't call it sounding worse on the auto, but a manual transmission makes it sound better (around shift points)

what year is the tl in this video?

I hate the look of it, i'd prefer stock, but i love how that engine sounds.

I'm not a fan of ricer cars, the sound of the exhaust seems to have a unique sound to it, doesn't seem ricer to me.

Any opinions on it? It's making me want ATLP more :P

I had my ATLP exhaust for nearly 5 years and really enjoyed it. It made me fall in love with my car all over again, even though it was an automatic.

Yeah, yeah, they're shitty pics, but it's all I'm taking. I don't like showing my car and yes, I realize it's dirty as hell.

I haven't heard any other TL exhausts, but I really like this one. At first I didn't like how one pipe was so much shorter than the adjacent one (I prefer the Type S look better, where both tips are cut at an even angle), but, I think these tips look shitty in photos and great in person. Go figure.

Oh, and Truongthe- suck it. Don't make me put a bagel in the photos

And for those who don't have a Type-S/Type-S rear lip, the ATLP Base is fantastic

Honestly I think the TL base one looks better than the quad, but since i'll get a type s when it is time to move to acura, I'll be forced to do the quad

What kind of rims are on that white base quad TL? I kinda like them. Would they fit on a type s?

I don't mean this to be a silly question but for a guy that doesn't know much about cars, why are you looking into upgrading the exhaust? People do it for performance purposes (and vroom vroom-sound). What's your reasoning?

Just for the sound then, I assume?

he likes burning money

the 0.01% gain in performance just isn't worth it.

Personally, I don't like the look of the base ATLP exhaust tips. They look friggin' weird.

Screw what people think, if you like it then it's ok. I just installed ATLP quads on my stock type s. I enjoy every time I drive into a garage.

I just want something that's louder than the stock engine. I've never been the racing type, love driving but i prefer luxury over sport. This isn't about performance. I just want something that'll sound louder.
