Do you change to stock air filter?
Hi everyone,
I’m fairly new to ACURAZINE and would like to know when do you guys change out the CAI to stock air filter.
During scheduled maintenance, warranty maintenance, or neither?
I read somewhere that the cold air intake could void your warranty, is this true?
You guys sure do know the TL and what better group to ask
Thank you so much in advance.
Paul

yes the warranty is void by installing a cold air intake, some exceptions may occur though, if there's a engine problem caused by the intake than your not under warranty but say that it was just the engine and had nothing to do with the intake than your ok

I have NEVER removed my CAI even when I take it into the dealership for service. But this is dealer specific. Some dealerships are more performance oriented than others. You can tell if you check the parts department store the next time you visit the dealership or just ask them. The issue with vioding warranty is questionable to some degree. Acura has to prove that the modification to your car is the reason for the engine failure. This has been discussed plenty of times and there is plenty of speculation of which is the correct answer.
If you are worried that you will void warranty, then wait it out til your warranty period is up, then modd it.

Thank you Jason and EvisionTL, I appreciate the info.
I actually just installed my AEM this Sunday. And I love it.....the whistling is kinda cool in a way....but sometimes it sounds louder than others...I know this is a normal thing for CAI.... but I couldn't find the reason why there is a whistling.....is it the air passing throw the cone filter.....or is it the engine.... one of these days I'll find out why...haha...
