I was lightly thinking about this option. But I dismissed it as being too radical..... but now you got me thinking about it again.

I need to share with someone that can appreciate.........

The 3" is still rocking and taking names.

A block from work this morning, there was a newer Camaro with dubs (20" rims). It was one of the deluxe models of Camaro not the plain Jane version. From the sound of it, he could had an aftermarket exhaust.

There is a series of hairpin turns (basically a 180* turn) close to work. I saw him up front and I got on his rear thru the turns. The heavy Camaro was no match here. So once he got to the straight-away, he nails it. The loudass 3" stayed glue to his rear (single lane road) until he let off (basically 20-90 mph).

The best part comes, seconds later, when I follow him into the 8-story concrete parking garage. He is in front and me right behind him. As we crawl over the speed bumps and navigate the tight turns into the garage building, I keep harassing him for fun (my fun not his fun ) by lightly blipping my throttle. Once we approach the first small straight-away inside the concrete garage building, he tries to be bad-ass by heavily blipping his throttle. I match with a good blip of mind. NO CONTEST in my opinion . The 3" no-muffler sounded awesome. Inside the concrete parking garage, it sounded like a one-liter superbike with an aftermarket exhaust. It caught everyone's attention that was standing around. His was the typical muscle car growl. Inside the concrete parking garage, mine would make the hair on the back of your neck stand-up (from the pitch not just loudness). Just like a superbike, the rpm's jump super fast.

After this contest of exhaust barking, I had to follow him for another two levels up the garage. He didn't try anything again (no more blips).

Thanks for letting me share. I will probably be wearing a grin all day.

Well, I didn't measure them. But the wheels were definitely bigger than normal. The wheels looked pretty large diameter but not too obnoxious. I have seen a few other Camaro's with similar.

Well no offense meant.....One thought I have had for a long time is to ask the Supertapp people and see if they would build an Oval shaped muffler.

Somehow I always thought they had a good product....just lacked the marketing on it...

Here is the terrible rasp. The rasp is actually much louder than wot. I usually try to avoid this rpm range.

nice example video's InAccurate, I remember the dreaded rasp at those rpms that everyone hates, when I was catless and had stage4 exhaust mod on the oem catback set-up.....I got use to it and did not really bother me, but I also stayed away from those rpm ranges when going thru the city and neighborhood, and when passengers were in the car!! lol!!

just listened to all of them... that is loud! good loud but loud, reminds me of some good old American cars from when I was younger and they were being modded

one thing I noticed is that since you removed all the internal padding I am wondering if the sound is even more heightened.. cause I heard everything, even teh gears changing or any type of bumps

that said I want my exhaust so sound like that... on the outside .. need to figure out the balance for internal noise

and thanks very much for the videos, very helpful in many ways

I try and keep up with your well documented threads but I can't recall one thing...

Have you every gone to the track and done some quarter miles? Very curious what your times would be.

hmm, not sure yet how I meant it

I am walking that fine line of wanting to drive a lot.. which means my wife will be in the car, or always taking her car when we go places...

i have a feeling I am just going get her MDX fully serviced and just take that everywhere when we are together.. annoying part is I have to take time away from my car to work on her car... the sacrifices we make

Oh, you got the wrong perspective.

I see what it can do EVERYDAY !!!!

It is that I just don't care that much trying to prove it to my haters on Acurazine. I know what my car does. It is a solid low (very low) 13 second car. I do wonder if I am hitting close to the 12's. But I am too lazy to wait for hours in line at the drag strip just to get one run that would not really be reflective on real life anyways due to wheelspin (lack of practicing leaving the line at the drag strip).

Even with a timeslip, people will not always believe you. Even with videos, they find ways to disprove and discredit you. why in hell should I waste my time trying to prove it to others. But, I am more than glad to prove it to anyone that is next to me at a redlight. This includes American muscle cars too that I have taken down.

I guess I never considered proving it to others, only to myself. Never thought you had haters either but I guess I can see some of the crap people have given you.

I can't fathom what it'd be like to go to the track with a bolt on untuned TL and run 12s. Have to be a gratifying feeling. I'd be laughing all the way home.

Anyways, good stuff.

^ Yes sir. I am working this currently. Good competition is few and far between. I have started carrying a camera with me at all times. It will takes a few months probably. I have a good race about once every few months. Summer months have more races because of less traffic (school out for summer) which allows for races to be more easily arranged at the redlight.

How I arrange a race is by pacing my competition (or victim), side by side, until we hit a redlight together. Then, the next step is to entice the person to wot.

My new thread will NOT be in the racing subforum. To many assholes are in the racing subforum. It will be posted here in this subforum and I expect the thread to quickly get closed. And, this is fine with me. I might wait to post several races at one time seeing that the thread will not remain open too long to make additions to it. After that, I am expecting the forum moderators to threaten me with a ban if I continue posting vids. When this happens, I will just find a casual way to direct the reader to YouTube to find my vids.

I consider myself pretty handy as I do 90% of the work on my car myself but I learned a lesson this past weekend. DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME AND IF YOU HAVE NO CLUE WHAT YOU'RE DOING CHECK WITH SOMEONE ELSE!!!!

I tried using sleeves this weekend and figured I could just shimmy the pipe's together using a piece of straight pipe I bought. Boy was I wrong. Ended up dropping the back end of the exhaust for 2 days (sounded very nice and saved weight hehe!) and then took it to a shop to get welded anyway!

Just joking buddy !!!

Hi jpm,

Thanks for the update. I am sorry to hear about the misadventure.

But on the bright side, it does pay attempting stuff yourself. This is how we learn...... especially about working on cars. Don't let this experience discourage you from trying to do things yourself in the future. School of hard knocks.
