The anodized blue is very hard to get a consistent blue and the right shade of blue you're looking for. I know from experience...do exactly the same amount of coats and as soon as you think it's too dark, stop. It'll dry and get lighter but if you keep going it'll become a very dark blue.
If you DO want to go this route, my other advice is to get a can of high temp silver as a base to shine THROUGH the blue. I did some test sprays...the anodized blue on black looked like nothing...only in certain light did it show...the blue on the direct metal looked like my taint...and the blue on a silver base looked best and represented the type of blue I was going for.
That said, If/when I ever need to redo mine, I'll find a color blue that I like on a car and use that to paint a SOLID blue on them (like the old M3 blue that was aqua-ish).
Also, my decals are 3.5"...I'm sure anywhere from 3.5 to 5 will look great. Before clearing, do yourself a favor and measure and put some painters tape down as a guide...I tried eyeballing twice and fked up both times.

And Laguna Seca was what I was looking at earlier...

I'll post pics up when I have them done.
By the way, while I'm in here, do we have a good write up for how to bleed brakes on a type-s? I would imagine that they are different since the type-s has Brembos. I'm switching out my fluid for Motul DOT 5.1.
Edit: Looks like this is the best one that we have?

I guess I'm alone in trying to hide the calipers or the fact that I have a 13" BBK. I ordered it with the black calipers and with rotors that have fewer slots than most and partially hidden behind stock base rims. I guess the black caliper goes along with the black car sort of. I'm probably going to remove the white Stoptech logo the next time I have to remove the wheels so they're all black.
I'm surprised no one has painted the heat shields that protrude slightly around the outer diameter of the rotor.

Decided to make my life complicated and cut out CF vinyl to create a nice effect. Came out really well in my mind

Well, that's slightly adjusted in Lightroom but it's the same color ebelp did on his. I did a high temp base, then a regular degular color and clear over. It's from home depot called "Satin Lagoon"
here are good representations

Interesting. I'm going to have to do that the next time. We're between renting a buying a house so as soon as we're in our new place I'll have a 2 car garage to start building a paint booth. Things are going to get fun and I'm hoping to get some custom colors mixed. Tired of going to a meet and seeming like a VHT color card.

I have some failed DIY paint skills. I screwed up my front bumper trying to cover up rock chips. Then I wrapped it to cover it up. Will try to fix it again when I have a proper setup.
Hmmm. I usually hear the opposite. I'm just excited to not have to deal with self righteous landlords. Annoying. Also I'm gonna be picking up the Nest which is AWESOME!

Mine are spray painted. Lasts a good 2 years before anything needs to be done. And makes it easy to switch colors. Also you typically shouldn't powder coat aluminium parts. Anodizing is better since it doesn't damage the parts. The heat from powder coating causes the aluminium to weaken. Also anodizing is cheaper.
