what u mean dude its a one piece 2.5 stainless steel pipe weld to flange .... now im thinking of doing something a bit different on the bottom side of the pipe .....tonight im going to wrap them with the heat resistant material......
What I am talking about is richie his flange to pipe is port matched pretty much somehow they made a die to press that shape out that is why the are a 2 piece design. Neck then the tube. They are pretty spot on. if you take a round pipe and shiv it into a hole that is not that shape you will have a velocity breakdown aka no free flow. That is a problem. If you look at other precats and their designs they all have those type characteristics. Multiple peicings and welds. to make the port clearance. Dont get me wrong you have done a good job with the bung placement and such. It looks like you used a plasma cutter to make the flanges. You can also make the slits to match the head ports. Then just finish weld the tabs together. I have made many in my area that way thick walled stainless and a good welder and plasma cutter you can make just about anything in the after market cheaper. Take their design and build it in you garage. Props to ya in makin it yourself. Flow is key and restriction sucks oversized flanges are good. Good luck
Props TL-S121! I love making my own stuff, I dont care if there are other parts i could just buy and bolt on. Where did you get the flanges from?
Ussi: Since when is 300-400 cheap for some pipe and flanges?

They look very nice man. I just have to say that if you are staying NA, 2.5in is a little big. The reason being that they are so close to the head. Usually smaller piping closer to the head is better than larger, unless of course you have FI. But they do look great, let us know of the gains.
I got them flanges from my boy at acura he had a car that needed cats and he cut out the flanges and gave me them then i got the stainless steel 2.5 inch piping from my cousin at magnaflow ......and i work at an auto parts i have meineke as accounts and they weld for me so its basically free for me and i get it all in one piece .....

keep in mind how thick the piping is. I was trying to find the thickness of the RV6 V1 v.s. the V2, but came up with no luck. In your case, to save time and money you may want to prevent from having to make a V2.
either way good luck and props for giving it a shot.

Damn even there my stock tl-s made 261 stock without nothing .....i bought it drove it i think it had like 500 miles when i first put it on the dyno
Stock TYPE S with a apexi neo tune made 287 first tune that was about 10 minutes on the dyno then tried it again and again started to make more fine tuned made 300WHP now i added pulley cold air intake and precat deletes and made my own custom exhaust like the precat deletes using magnaflow pipes will c what happens ......

. I call BS, sry man don't see it happening. btw apexi neo is not the prefered tuning system for our cars, AEM FIC is. Plus i hope u know dynoes are to be used for tuning only. 1/4 mile times are where the real respect lies. I can make ur dyno read 350whp if that makes u happy and makes u come back as a repeat customer. tuners can make ur dyno say anything they want, for more accuracy go to other dynos and then compare.
this number is possible on a stock 3.5 type s
lol +26 hp with just tune on stock type s

Though 261 is a little high, that's believable for a stock TL-s 6MT. However, gaining 26whp just from a VAFC tune on a STOCK motor doesn't make any sense. You don't gain from a tune on a STOCK motor, especially one that basically detonates already. I'd believe a 26whp increase with CAI/exhaust and a tune though...

to tl-s121: i am not saying ur wrong im just stating the fact that dyno #'s often vary between different shops. if u say u got 300whp that is fine with me i don't care.
i gotta give u props though for making ur own pre-cats.
anyway, what u doing next in terms of mods?

He dynoed his car on a uncorrected dyno which is why he assumes he makes 300 whp. He doesn't realize I could dyno my base TL with no mods for 245whp with the same dyno he used.
props on the PCD's i hav been tossing around the idea of full 2.5 off of each head collecting into a single 3 inch...i believe i will hit the 270whp mark on my J30A4 once i do this...LMK when i can get a set of 2.5 PCD's from you
So are these on the car? Im pretty sure the front will have clearing issues with the radiator
What dyno?
Btw I think the best way to calculate hp is by converting you 1/4 mile time and speed plus the weight of ur car

that being said... did you plan to get the slim fans for free also?
