Custom J-pipe - tell me what you guys want
okay....so i have read enough post regarding people wanting a J-pipe for our cars. I am getting one done for myself, so I was thinking maybe I could get everyone's opinion on what they want, and possibly hook you guys up for those who would want one. I am in no way selling them myself. Just pointing you to the direction where you could find them. Hopfully I wont piss anyone off.
Since most aftermarket exhaust system avaliable for our TL uses 2.5" pipe, I have decided that the J-pipe will also have a 2.5" outlet. The inlet would be either 2" or 2.25".
Here are a few questions:
1. Would you want to delete the 3rd cat, retain the 3rd cat, or have the option of a test pipe?
2. Would you want the J-pipe to be mandrel bent? (It would cost more as they need specialized machine to do that)
3. Would you want the J-pipe to be equal length? (There are lots of debates regarding these issues. Some say it doesn't matter, some say it makes lots of difference.)
4. Would you want the J-pipe to be Stainless steel? (This would increase the cost but it would look bling bling.)
If there are enough interest, I could arrange to have them fit on a stock TL and TL-S and dyno to see the power gain. I would also do it on mine but mine is pretty far away from stock.
If there are not enough interested, then I wouldnt bother since dynoing alone is pretty expensive. In my area it cost $100 for 3 runs.
So tell me what you guys think! And don't worry about the quality, because I only want the best!
